Gears 5: Causal Edition

This is 100% facts. It doesn’t matter what game series we are talking about either. If developers try to be innovative then people complain. If they recycle a game from an earlier series, guess what, people complain. What happened to constructive criticism?

There have been mountains and mountains of constructive criticism towards Gears UE and 4 over the past few years on what can be improved and suggestions. Virtually all of it was ignored, if not flatout deleted.

what on earth are you talking about? isn’t it the goal to just throw the player into a game? what “dynamic” are you referencing? I can agree that the same game we loved isint here…but things change and I don’t know many ip’s that have kept the spark it once had.

To me all the people so keen on getting behind crowbat’s video are just people who want to complain about nonsensical ■■■■. We could make a whole documentary on how ■■■■■■ some of the mechanics and graphics were in GoW1 but nah lets poop on the new game.

crowbat’s style of videos always show the worst in games sometimes its deserved but most times its just a camera pointed at a games imperfections. Like cmon gears 1 had somewhat destructive environments and blood trails but to downplay gears 5 running on most pc systems and on the xbox1 at higher framerate all while having some of the best graphics on xbox to date is just stupid.

for me running my chainsaw into a ■■■■■■■ terminator and watching them get ripped open is as euphoric as ever, ■■■■ this hate culture on new releases.

The ‘hate’ isn’t because it’s a new release. The hate is because of ■■■■ like input lag, sluggish gameplay, busted hitboxes, heavy aim assists, poor movement that makes rifles more powerful than they probably should be ,etc.

I don’t know who Crowbat is and don’t really care, but there is ALOT of complaints about how the game plays well beyond the network issues the game launched with.

no clue what you are talking about. input lag? where? sluggish gameplay? its the fastest its ever been, rifles are fine I really dont see any of your complaints. gears isint a standard shooter, you cant just gun someone down with the lancer without giving them a chance to get to cover.

the rifle damage is about the same as gears 1 so what kinda ■■■■ is that to say this game is worse when the original had it.

I agree networking issues are tough but like most launches they will be ironed out.

if you dont know who crowbat is I advise you to try to understand his game. he wants to cause controversy any way he can to get more views. He literately got all nintendo switch break vids and compiled them into one video to trick people into thinking the switch was a broken piece of hardware when in reality a small few had these issues. https://youtu.be/Cb-srOfRqNc

he is a master deceiver claiming the switch launch was a bust when it was the most sold nintendo console sencond to the wii.

To my knowledge cliffy B ■■■■■■■ about the gnasher being the dominant weapon as did rod.

I love the changes to the campaign except (spoiler to an extent) the choice YOU make, unless it will reflect on the next game its pointless.

Cant speak for horde as i have not yet played it.

Escape is new however i have yet to play it.

The MP for me is meh, weapons are too strong and movement is too restricting, whether you agree or not my PERSONAL preference would be no stopping power, faster sliding in and out of cover, weaker weapon damage and the return of the old style of active reload.

It seems like they still cant choose which side of the isle to stand on and are trying to meet in the middle which is just annoying everyone.

Last thing, be prepared for their iron system to start bending you over.

This game is loaded is with input lag, it was one of the biggest complaints about the tech test.

You mentioned the chainsaw. You realize just starting the chainsaw now has a signifgant delayed input to rev up? That’s the input lag I’m talking about, apply that to wallbouncing , shooting after a roadie run etc. It’s not that big of a deal with the lancer itself, but when trying to fight it slows down movements and leads to awkward situations where inputs (like shots, reloads, cover cancel ,etc) simply do not register.

The rifle damage is the same as gears 1? Citation plz. Even if it is (honestly not sure) the problem comes from the hit detection being way waaaaay too generous where you can just aim in the general direction of someone and it will still register as a hit. In the older Gears games you can negate rifle spam by wallbouncing to close the distance, now the bounce is too slow and you just die.

And when you do chainsaw someone it’s also clunky as ■■■■ compared to ALL of the past Gears games.

Wow,

That Lancer is crazy strong :joy:

Funny you mention Judgment which was done by people can fly who all those employees went to TC. Those devs also worked on the notorious gwfl pc port of GOW 1.

If you don’t like the game, then don’t play it.

What do you hope to accomplish by starting threads like this?

Do you think TC is going to change the game to suit your opinion?.. no

It’s not Gears 1, 2, 3 , or 4. We already know that.

The problem is… the old Gears is just that… old.

A franchise can only survive for so long by releasing the same game over and over in different environments. If this game is not the same then good. I don’t think “the same” is what they were trying to do here.

Love the old gears… I DO!!

Don’t hate on the new one because it’s not more of the same.

They changed the name of the game.

You didn’t take a hint from that? Really dude… why do you think they changed the name?

Ok, let me explain. This, like many other things in life, is about perspective.

Let’s say Person A has a crappy car, a broken down and beat up car. A low-end car.

Person B has a lambo or ferrari. A high-end car.

Now, everyone will get a mid-end car, a 5/10 car.

Person A will love it because it is an improvement. Person B will not like as it is a downgrade. It is based on perspective.

This is to explain how casuals love the game but veterans/hardcore players are critical of it.

The dynamic of us having a ferrari/lambo is gone. Therefore, the game is too casual.

Gears has always been a tough game to enter. There is no way that anybody should just pick up the controller and be good at Gears.

They changed the name to fit other titles like Gears Pop and Gears Tactics.

They had stated that they wanted our trust in Gears 4 and they were going to betray us with Gears 5.

Well, they betrayed us too much.

They sold us out and casualized the game we love.

We should never be discarded as just, “if you don’t like it then don’t play it.”

We, more than anyone in the community, care for the game. We pay attention to every little detail. We love the game and want what is best for it.

A game only thrives and survives with its community. The community is and always will be the top priority.

We feel disappointed in this game. We got sold out.

the rifles are op gnasher op … I like they changed the gnasher clip .but rifles too op . camping camping everywhere

movement has been reduced and made irrelevant with the damages y wallbounce when u just need to land the first shot with the gnasher , being aggressive and pushing players is useless they land the first shot and only have to sneez on u for a kill. and the bigger maps try pushin even 2 ppl with a lancer and ur downed and dead in 2 seconds cant even get in cover … even one person with a lancer and u cant push unless they really really bad

all this game is now is a stand back in cover shoot across the map down someone get a kill without even having to move or go get the kill , at least if they had execution or execution rules it would help … but this game feels more like playing star wars or cod.

not to mention someone like myself , i only like playing execution on comp settings so being forced to play tdm crap on the gears 4 core op settings its just lame …

and theres been numerous threads with ppl pissed theres no ranked execution and of course the op weapons

Yes, all the maps, balance, and movement make this game a camp fest.

There is no incentive in pushing. Only way to do so is my throwing all flashbangs and that is so cheap in my opinion.

The game lacks dynamic. I don’t know how people don’t see that.

???

I said Lancer is too Strong …

Blindly ignore flaws? The flaws you all make up because of your inability to play the game the exact same as every other Gears which this game ISN’T??

Anthem had 7 years, that is on bioware for being poorly managed not EA from what I understand.

Gears 5 had three years, which should have been plenty.

Considering Cliffy B went on to not only release 2 failed games, but he also tanked a development team because he was chasing the hot trends trying to make the next Overwatch or Fortnite…I wouldn’t say he could do any better. If he was around Gears would have had a crappy battle royale mode or something lol
