To some degree yea and no. They listen to us for some VS things but wont budge on the problems with horde.
Its also not just about what we want to see but TC’s ability to fix things without introducing more problems.

Yeah they need to show more love to Horde, for sure.
And yes I agree they need more consistency with their updates.
Right now I also think it deserves a 3 or 4.
I placed a review with 2 stars after the first month and listed the problems the game had. It got removed some days later. I think removing these reviews is kinda shady
Ugh, promised myself I was done with this thread, but here I am again.
To some yes.
Some people can’t find a match to save their own life. Some people haven’t finished the campaign due to it still having game breaking bugs.
Some people are having issue with iron, where they purchase them but they don’t appear in their accounts and TC’s ticket system is garbage to say the least so they can’t get help on that end, they can’t get help here cause they’re hardly present, and Twitter is a luck of a draw cause they don’t respond to everyone.
Those are just a few serious technical issues that would warrant the game to have a 1star review.
Also, y’all seem to love to throw away terms on these forums that y’all don’t seem to understand. Review bombing implies that there was some sort of organised group that coordinated itself to review something badly for x reason. I highly, HIGHLY doubt there was any(for Gears of all games lawl
), and it was more just individuals giving it a low score for various reasons.
Y’all need to wake up and stop pretending like Gears5 is your messiah that can do no wrong. It did a ton of wrong, and still does.
Its not about showing more love to horde. People have been complaining about character lock since day one and TC wont budge on it. Me personally I dont mind the hero thing just hate that its character locked. This makes people quit as soon as they dont get their character. Its also bad because it limits what new characters we get drip fed because we have to wait for TC to come up with their hero abilities.
Now if TC were to not lock it to characters its a game changer
Also Ive been saying this since Gears 4. With every new update that fixes something they break something else. Operation 2 brought the horde crash and with update 3.1 now theres certain points where my character gets stuck and I cant move until an enemy downs me
AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THEY HAVENT FIXED THE NO NOISE FRAG GRENADES THAT WAS IN GEARS 4 SINCE DAY 1
I think playerbase should reinstate all the bad reviews once again and lower the score for the following reasons:
and

Yes I do think overall it’s shady. It’s a very touchy subject.
The issues you listed are pretty serious. Whether or not they warrant the game to be a 1 star, that’s subjective. But on a mass scale? I don’t think so.
Review bombing doesn’t have to be a mass organized event to be considered review bombing. It can simply be disappointed fans that individually all give it a 1 star. It doesn’t have to be organized or coordinated.
And Gears 5 has issues, quite a few of them. Not sure where you are reading otherwise.
Removing the Hero system would please a lot of fans. I liked how it was handled in Gears 4 too, but at this point I doubt they will change it since it’s a pretty big fundamental focus on this whole game. I do think however its gotten better with the recent influx of new characters added between Operation 2 and the Hivebusters, but they still need more. They should have launched with more.
And yes the inconsistency with new TUs is something I have echoed as well. It has to be handled better.
When you’ve got entire continents that are having trouble finding matches, I beg to differ. It should be on a global scale rather than just mass scale at this point imo.
Wrong.
Yeah I get it. From that perspective, I’d be frustrated too.
LuL this is delusional. First, Gears 5 has already clearly not failed. A ton of people played it and it generated lots of action for Gamepass, which is MS’s ultimate goal these days. The player base remains healthy, and the game is receiving continued support and content updates into the foreseeable future.
Second, if first party games like GOW and Halo stop being financially viable, a company like Microsoft isn’t going to pause and start reading the GOW forums or Reddit or incoherent store reviews and somehow use them as the basis for future installments. Rather, they’d just exit the game development market as they’ve exited countless other unprofitable segments of business over the years (e.g., https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4497396/books-in-microsoft-store-faq). I guess you can root for failure if you’d rather have no Gears than Gears 5 (or future TC installments). Many of you have become so irrationally angry that I guess that’s your mindset.
So you’re saying that any fans who have reviewed the game on xbox live (which requires you to own the game and have played it in order to leave a review) and have given it a 1 star review, is considered as review bombing. Whereas those fans who have also left a review but have given it 5 stars is not considered review bombing???
You can call this post bait or whatever childish meme you want to use… But calling a legitimate question to your statement as “bait” and refusing to answer just makes you look ignorant and stupid. Try and post a constructive answer to the above if you are able to??
They should do that… I mean the purpose of the game its precisely that… please a lot of customers.
Bad decision, since if that’s true then Gears 5 will always be remembered as a broken wanna-be fortnite game .
Simple answer, no. That is not what I said. Reading the posts above would have answered your question before posting it.
You are known for planting bait, so I am avoiding it. Simply not worth it. Also calling people ignorant and stupid doesn’t help improve your case.
Moving on.
Gears 5 has definitely underperformed.
Your second point is simply nonsense. Xbox One console underperformed, they got tons of negative feedback etc and did they exit console business? Nope, they have done alot to make it a better and more consumer friendly product. They have invested heavily on gaming, all guns blazing.
Halo 5 didn’t sell nearly as well as previous games. Did they abandon it? No, they’re listening to feedback and reverting back to classic Halo style.
They’re not abandoning Gears franchise either despite Gears 5 failing.
COrrect… I only hope Gears 6 could correct the foul ups that Gears 5 has been suffering as of this moment.
Yes, this is often be the case. Negativity bias is a well-known and extensively studied phenomenon. Negative/loss stimuli tend to have a greater effect on people than positive/gain stimuli of equal intensity. People tend to rate negative statements as more intelligent than positive statements, and people sometimes use negativity in order to appear intelligent to others. Negative aspects of things are more likely to be perceived in conscious awareness than positive/reinforcing aspects. There are a whole host of reasons rooted in basic human psychology that explain why negative voices would have a louder voice on the internet than they’re rightfully due.
Neither Xbox One, Halo, nor GOW are financial failures. I have no idea what you’re attempting to respond to.
If anything human history has teach us its that human intelligence its not based on negative or positive comments towards something… it depends on the " common sense " of things as they are… for example if we gather a group of 2000 people and from them 1800 people stablished that Gears 5 its garbage , what is more likely that the game works great or not ?
Intelligence between both parties its a sound fact… the problem here its that " common sense " stablishes the most logical answer which is that the game it’s not delivering as intended.
The customers are intelligent, so much that they flooded the store reviews and the forums stating the same point… the positivism movement here its a small group and doesn’t have a big footprint unfortunately Mark.
