Let’s find out.
Put in a ticket. With Details on that ticket. That tell us what the ticket is for, and what exactly the issues you are experiencing are on the ticket. Because we need the ticket to investigate the issue to the best of shared knowledge so that the ticket will narrow down the issue in a manner that means we see the issue, can repeat it, and can fix it.

Surely you can understand that after a game being broken for 2 years and no sign of a fix, people are going to start to feel a little annoyed shall we say. Not only the people who paid for the game, but people like myself that bought a new gaming laptop with the intention of completing the game and now through no fault of my own, I can’t.

Tbf, the other guy was in no way being aggressive either. We would just like some answers.

Like I’ve said, Gears UE for Windows 10 has not been awarding XP and has not had game mode rotation since August 2018. Surely it can’t be too difficult to turn these features back on. Can you please answer the following questions:

(1) Why has no XP been being awarded & why is there no game mode rotation? Did you turn off these features intentionally?
(2) Have you looked into this or tried to fix it?
(3) Do you ever intend to fix it?

If you don’t plan on fixing it then fine, i’ll be annoyed but at least then I can just uninstall the game and move on. Gaming is supposed to be fun but it’s honestly become exhausting having to try to chase you guys for answers and having to check back on these forums periodically hoping we get some answers.

Part of it is a Windows issue, which has been explained on dev streams and in other places repeatedly.

  1. The no XP thing is an issue, but game mode rotation might be because they are older games that are not being fully supported (which has also been explained elsewhere).
  1. Yes, hence the ‘it’s also part of a Windows issue’
  2. Currently, yes, but depending on further investigation into the possibility with collaboration with the Windows team, unknown.

So yes, it was being aggressive - the responses above have been given. It’s being investigated. Bugs go to Support and otherwise, there is no further news at this time.

People may not want to hear ‘put in a ticket’, but if people do not, we cannot gather more information, or know it’s still ongoing, if anything has changed, etc.

So. Either wait for more news, like we all are, or put in a ticket to help it all along.

I’m not trying to shoot the messenger here, but could you elaborate on where the “other places” are?

I do not watch the Dev Streams because every time I do, it seems to just be watching someone play Gears while Dana answers 200 variations of “is _____ coming in a future update”. I realize there might be 1-2 minutes worth of good info, but I’m sorry, I’m not sitting through 2 hours to catch it that 1-2 minutes per week. I’d honestly rather go back to college for a PhD.

The community has been asking for a one-stop place to catch up on info for ages now. The Trello board is a good first step, but it is only for Gears 5, and only some info on only some of the issues. The next obvious place to look is here in the official Gears forums. But there is no longer sections for Gears 4 or U.E., much less the legacy games.

The community isn’t in one place, so a one-stop catch all doesn’t work, unfortunately.

Dev stream, which means on our Youtube and Twitch, From there, any who take information from that and share it around in clipped formats, which moves it to Twitter, Reddit…

And now, the forums.

But that’s exactly the reason why we need a one-stop catch all. Some people don’t check Twitter, others don’t check Facebook, others don’t watch “dev streams”, others don’t check these forums, others don’t check the Trello board, and some don’t follow any non-TC sources for official news.

I realize it is hard to get sense of the intended tone of text. But when people ask a question here on the forums and the response that it has been explained numerous times, it feels like the person asking the question should already know the answer. But sadly, there’s no way I know of to search the live streams for keywords. So even if folks go there to find the answer, they’d have to sit through days worth of the live streams to see if it has been covered there.

TC can make posts on Facebook and Twitter for What’s Up and This Week In Gears with links to the posts on the Gears 5 website. The Trello board has links to the forums, Facebook, Twitter, etc. So it shouldn’t be impossible to make a one-stop catch all somewhere and link to it from the other places.

For example - let’s say the Dev Stream was the one-stop place. You yourself just said you don’t go there.

You’re right, I did say I don’t watch the Dev Streams. But as I also pointed out, there isn’t a search function for the Dev Streams. Would you seriously suggest trying to share massive amounts of pertinent information in video format where folks can’t easily search for the info they seek? And as I also pointed out, the reason I don’t watch the Dev Streams is because it is 1 hour and 58 minutes of talking about and avoiding questions about future content, and 2 minutes of pertinent info.

Maybe if the Dev Streams would be more structured, as in following an outline and only reading/talking about questions that have to do with the content being presented more of us would tune in.

I hope you don’t forget the story related achievements unlock bug in Gears 4 for win10 players + flaming weapons. It is not that old. And when we mentioned that it was actually the newest title.
I sent a ticket and ticket number to you a few months ago.
I don’t have any problems to wait as long as it get fixed at some point.
Well. I thought it just takes some time because of covid. But you are releasing gears tactics + dlc + Gears 5 xsx version meanwhile. So there are ressources.
Maybe a Christmas present? :blush:

It’s still in the system and being looked into for what/how type stuff, not forgotten.

And the reason resources are stretched is the release of tactics and Gears 5 on the new xboxs as we’re kind of a launch ‘re-release’ and that brings with it a lot of work.

Gears UE on windows 10 XP is currently working rn!!! Currently sitting at level 12 and started the game today.

Can’t wait for gears 4 fixed achievements :stuck_out_tongue:

Yep, XP is working but the game is still not completable as they need to turn on a rotating playlist! Otherwise you cant get all achievements but one! Can you help @TC_Sera

Can you add all game modes to the actual menu or add a rotating playlist back so all game modes can be played?

How does it make sense that you can’t even play every game mode from the menu?

Thanks for fixing the XP in gears UE (win10). Indeed, the maps are not rotating yet. Would appreciate a fix for that also, while you guys are at it. Thanks!
