What are some games you really wanted to like but couldn’t and what small changes would make you like them? Mine is easily Carmageddon, all they had to do was make the cars not handle like crap and it might easily be my favorite racing game
Dying Light hands down. I was so into it for the first several hours since I really admired the vibes of the zombie world + the parkour.
Unfortunately the weapons you had were not fun to use at all, and the quests were just stupid fetch quests (go here, grab that, go there, grab that, etc.).
Ended up giving up on the game after 10 hours or so because it was just boring.
Turning point fall of liberty. Interesting concept, a what if universe set after WW2. Terrible gameplay terrible graphics awful mp.
Assassin’s Creed (hear me out),
I really wanted to get into the AC series in about '09 (around AC2 time), so I bought AC and AC2, and couldn’t get into it. I just found it boring. I wanted so badly to like it, but I couldn’t.
Also, I didn’t care much for the environment/time period. I played a similar game in Shadow of Mordor, and absolutely loved it. But I’m a fan of the Lord of the Rings series, so the universe itself was never going to be the problem.
I keep on giving it a go every now and then, and I just can’t get into it.
The original Fallout games (1, 2, and tactics).
Fallout 3 remains one of my all-time favorites, and I enjoyed New Vegas & Fallout 4. I got the classic Fallout games years back and I was well aware of the differences, but I wanted to give them a shot. I struggled to really get into the gameplay as it wasn’t something I was comfortable with on a computer. At the time anyways, I had little patience for predominantly turn-based games though nowadays, I am much more receptive of them. Even so, they’re not something that I’m eager to give another go, but I think most of it has to do with the games being “too old” for me to truly appreciate.
Couldn’t get into AC1, but really loved AC2… I played 2 others and it started to get stale…
Skyrim… I tried and tried and tried to get into this game… I have purchased it probably 3 different times lol…
Metal gear solid 5
COD games. I am a huge Halo and Gears fan. I could never get into COD the way I love Halo and Gears.
I tried playing all different COD games and I was pretty good at them, I just didnt love playing them.
Aliens Colonial Marines…I don’t have to explain
Haha
A couple years ago I tried to get into Morrowind. I heard such amazing things about it. The game is very difficult to get into, I think, having gone from Skyrim-> Oblivion-> Morrowind. I still haven’t gotten more than 10-15 minutes into it. It isn’t the exploration or the “no fast travel” excuse or even the graphics that turn me off. It is the gameplay and combat.
I agree with the rising sentiment that the Elder Scrolls is becoming increasingly hand-holdy and criticize Skyrim if you must but it was easy to get into. An improvement to Morrowind’s combat would make it so much better and I mean literally only change the combat. I want to experience the exploration that people experienced all those years ago.
Guess that why we have mods though.
Another game is Halo 4. But long story short I had rose tinted glasses with Halo 4, then I ended up selling my limited edition a week or two later.
Gears 5
Reinstall it you coward
I remember there being some area where I could not figure out the puzzle or some form of glitch oh well my little undergrown brain cells could not master it at the time perhaps I should go back and finish what younger me started.
