Future power weapons?

So I guess TC gave us a cheeky lie when they said they wouldn’t be adding any weapons to Gears 5 :face_with_hand_over_mouth: Because lone behold the scorcher flamethrower has made its fiery return!!!

If they do plan on adding anymore weapons to the game, what would everyone like to see?

I’d personally like to see the ‘Hammer of dawn’ & ‘Mortar’ return, for me if I was to name the two weapons that brought the “WAR” in Gears of war it’d be these two gems… :heart_eyes: Sorry if I stole your idea :wink::joy:

Scorcher works really well already and is damn fun to use so they’ll no doubt be thinking if others are viable

While we’re at it they should fix the weapon skins in the Tour not being awarded for the Scorcher despite clearly showing up in the Customization menu.

I support the Mortar. As for the Hammer, it’s in Campaign but probably would be ridiculously OP as it does not only charge up ridiculously quick but also has three subsequent “pulses” that do more damage rather than just the initial high damage impact and then chasing targets with the beam.

Nice to have another fan of the mortar! That howling the shells made as they descended upon you was the stuff of nightmares on warzone :joy:

P. S hearing characters react to incoming fire is also an indescribable feeling when you are in the thick of it👌

It was also more fun dropping it on bots heads than the Lancer GL, even if it’s not a bad weapon in its own respect.

If they were to add another i’d go with the digger. Those direct hit kills where it burrows into the victims chest…glorious.

Indeed, apparently the weapon uses some kind of hollow creature as ammo I believe, unless there’s a lore reason whats to stop the swarm from taming them! They tamed a kraken so I think they could manage this…

Yeah me too :pleading_face: its such a tease seeing it on the speakers back and not being able to use it! Not only that you can see a few on river stuck to cover pieces!

If they were to add the breechshot I think they should give it to markza hunters in pve as a nod to judgement :v:

Gorgon pistol for sure, I just always loved the damn thing, burst variant or full auto.

I feel like if the boomshield were to return holding down zones in KOTH would be way harder as a team can just slowly and methodically push the zone while one player leads with a shield.

In horde if it were to return we’d need a new enemy type for it or at least be able to Fabricate it

I wanted to say that but wasn’t sure it would qualify :slight_smile: Mind would be blown if they come back when Classic Horde is finished. Probably a bit ambitious though.
