Fun bug in horde

Last night i joined a predator hunt custom lobby with countdown started. I didn’t notice how many players were in the lobby. The map loaded and the fun began:

  • i was in spectator mode with lists of players and enemies on both sides (with count of enemies)
  • 3 other guys started normally
  • i wasn’t in the list of players (2 ai soldiers were and active)
  • the fab was there and operational (secure the fab on start)
  • mods were from predator hunt
  • pause menu stated “horde”
  • enemies were from predator hunt and it was clearly 10-wave hunt
  • i was able to chat with the players in text
  • i got xp when I left

Possibly a bug because the mode/event is technically only supposed to have 3 players… not entirely sure why it would still pull some AI in though.

I’m guessing host transfer while the match starts (switching modes for the new host). Predator Hunt is now officially selectable in private lobbies.

Possibly caused by having more than 3 players in a lobby for the mode while it’s at least in public matchmaking only supposed to have three.

Fun fact, playing the Predator event on the Daily maps in a private lobby overrides that Daily’s mutator set with the set from the event. Definitely a bug with the lobby system and events.

Played a fair bit of predator hunt in custom. Lots of fun and hope it stays in custom though it is a bit messed up as you say, the biggest being the lack of Wakaatu on some maps, (checkout, abyss etc) for obvious reasons

In the lobby you have standard mutators but when you load the game up you will have the predator hunt mutators. Also once the game is done and you go back to lobby you end up with only 3 players slots for the next game. I did see a message saying someone joined as spectator yesterday but they didn’t stick around.

Highly recommend the mode in custom though. Just the right amount of power for basic barriers making it feel more like OG classic horde than classic horde did, interesting waves, for example a non boss wave with 3 wardens etc. Love it.
