For The Coalition, about the campaign bugs, trying to collect them all in one place so other players are aware of them

I’ll be honest I was expecting something completely different when you said that the swarmek was riding the truck.

Edit: I want to clarify something: This is an entirely different kind of bug you posted, it’s more of a double glitch… The checkpoint not triggering is a glitch on it’s own… The swarmek thing may be an error in placement of the AI spawn node. I’m no programmer but this is something I’ve seen happen in a game before. The best example I can think off offhand is Breath of The Wild, where several Treasure Chests spawn beneath the map instead of where they are supposed to, locking the player out of True 100% completion (though afaik they aren’t even counted in completion percentages.)

I didn’t know about BotW, I have the game but I’m playing Gears now for the achievements.

Another broken checkpoint. The same act and chapter, but this time is 2 checkpoints before Swarmak.

Playing alone, on Insane. I killed every enemy, but Carrier didn’t appear (and no new checkpoint too). I had a Swarm Sniper spawned outside Scan ability reach, I could hear (and read on the subtitles) a Swarm Sniper, but I couldn’t see him and he didn’t attack me. A lot of time wasted killing the enemies and looking for that last Swarm.

I found more glitches, but nothing like these no checkpoint problems. I still need to play campaign 1 more time, I hope that I don’t find many glitches like my last run on insane and playing co-op

The problem I have is that I have done co-op campaign all acts and it says my campaign is 93% complete

Check your stats for campaign, including your collectibles. There is still an issue where collectibles are being unregistered as collected, although it’s not as common as it used to be. I got lucky and had to collect the very first collectible in the game and that was it, and it was right after title update 3 that it unregistered.

I don’t think that you need the collectables to get the achievement for completing the campaign, just need to do all chapters /acts, I think there’s a separate achievement for collecting all the collectables

Just started doing some campaign after a break and had a weird glitch where the cryo cannons shot a laser looking thing out to the side (mostly to the left) and didn’t show the usual cloud of frost effect.

At the matriarch fight following this , the matriarch was invisible in the cut scene and at the start of the fight. She also spent a lot of time teleporting to the back of the boss area.
This was in online co-op.
I clipped the boss fight, but it recorded nothing.

Yeah I noticed that, but it’s minor, as they still work as intended. Also, I have had that happen before with the matriarch. I can say it doesn’t happen 100% of the time. It is mildly hilarious to see though.

That’s not a bug. You didn’t complete the side mission. There is a component storage on the same place you got the explosive ammo, beneath the ramp you were on. You need to open that and then the side-mission is marked as complete. It only can be opened once all enemies are defeated. A lot of people have this issue in this area (and to be fair it is very easy to overlook, as it is a different type of component storage)

Thanks. This is the first time that I didn’t take the component on my many campaign plays, but I was sure that I did it, even when I watched my video again. My bad.

Posted this separately because didn’t find this thread but encountered evil version of cutscenes + death silence. Fought the matriarch and I died right at the time killed because got fancy with sticking grenade to back. I got achievement for kill cutscenes dialogue started but still had to redo boss fight. So all sound except cutscenes and reloading gun was silenced. Fixed itself after killed again but fighting matriarch without audio clues of location on first playthrough is rough.

That’s not uncommon bug in games, actually. It happens in both the original version of the spyro trilogy, the reignited trilogy when fighting a boss and you die as soon as you defeat it as well. It happens in Halo 2 as well, especially frustrating for co-op. The big bug in it that is specific to Gears 5 is the sound issue… and it’s not actually muted either… it’s faded out (Use tac-coms and you can hear enemies firing) But it’s something with the death registering during the cutscene. Perhaps it’s in engine rather than pre-rendered or something.

I was wearing a gaming headset with volume up the only sound that was registering after cutscenes dialogue was the reloading noice and noise from perfect reload. No gunfire talking or environmental sound took place outside of those two specific things.

It’s first time I’ve had a death occur when cutscenes would trigger in any game. So wouldn’t know about the others though I can guess at the halo 2 one.

Guess I just got lucky then. I did have that listed, but I’ve moved it up from “Can’t to confirm if it’s patched” to definately not patched. Mostly cleaning up in my update today to prepare for new additions (That and I got caught up watching Lord of The Rings 4 disc extended edition)

Yeah that fight seems to be buggy based off looking it up the first time I fought it before that death silence bug my Ally spent the entire fight stuck behind a column at the entrance so I did the entire fight solo the first time.

I wondered if anyone can help or discuss…

I have been playing through the campaign on beginner to get the collectibles and components for jack’s upgrades. Have also been doing the achievement to get a kill with every relic weapon.

Loaded up act 3 chapter 3 to explore the open world and pick everything up. First stop was the cargo ship. I decided to jump in the silverback in the container to clear the flock… Picked up the 2 collectibles in the area and they showed on screen and they disappeared from the game. However, my progress was stuck at 83%. I thought it was temporary so went around getting the relic weapons and kills… The achievement has also stopped progressing and collectibles are now not showing in the game or that I’ve even collected them.

Is this coincidence that I got in the silverback and it appears to have broken something?

I know there were issues with collectibles from day 1 but I thought that had been fixed.

I remembered that many players had problem with Act 3, and it’s because if you go and collect components before or after going to a specific place, components and collectibles fail to register.

Read the comments about the achievement. Is a “common issue”. I just had luck on every campaign run that I did (4), never found problem with collectibles or components

Thanks for the tips. I read through that last night but I think my issue is slightly different. I’m still seeing components and they’re registering. It’s just collectibles and relic weapon kills. Will load it back up when I get home from work and try and work out how to get round it. I’m thinking of completing it through on this save slot so I can then chapter select. I’ve read that works for people who are missing components.

No panic - must have been server issues last night. Logged in today and everything is showing/registered.
