This update is trash I’m pretty sure people on here noticed that you can actually gain a few hundred points and win. Than you notice the red down arrow. You still derank on your tier. Seems like whom ever is in charge of rank at TC is missing a couple of fingers.

I haven’t really played any ranked much at all since the first week of OP3, which was awful because of network issues.
I’ve still been experiencing network/server side issues with the game so I haven’t really been playing . When I do get on I’ve just played a few games of FFA or Gridiron quickplay then get off, so I wouldn’t know from first hand experience. However, on paper when this was released I could already tell this wasn’t going to be very well received, so I could imagine what your saying is true.

It’s crazy. Idk why TC wasted any man power making a patch for Rank if they are rebuilding the system from ground up. They could use whomever to address other aspects of the game that are having issues. Internally TC seems broken. Like there isn’t a sense of direction. I hope someone there will raise up and take the reins. Choose a direction and finally stick with it. Just getting old not knowing what what to expect with each update.

Yes it’s really bad right now and I don’t understand what is happening. Someone please help.2v2 = I went from 12% gold 2 to bronze 3 within 3 matches. 3,000 ish point loss in 3 games!!! WTF man, that is 6-25 wins to get back. Now there is this weird 1,600 point glitch where it just keeps saying you gained these points but the % doesn’t change and the next day a few thousand points are missing. I just don’t get it.

And i think they changed the restrictions on level because im still gettin atleast one person less than level 50 not re uped once on my team
There isnt any. We had a guy the other night start fresh and he got in no problem

Not recently. We are still awaiting TC to detail and release the new system.

Not to be an ■■■, but seems a bit odd there aren’t more posted complaints/suggestions for ranked. How many are being deleted? Why isn’t there more transparency?
None are being deleted. Most people on the forums know that TC has said their ranking system isn’t working and that they are scrapping it, new one will be implemented when ready. For anyone aware of this, there isn’t any point detailing their feedback about it not working.
TC speaks about it on every (almost) weekly livestream and has mentioned it a few times on the weekly blogs on the Gears 5 Website as well as on twitter and reddit.
I think TC does need to improve on communication in a lot of areas, but this is one where they are being very open.

so we know changes are coming but we don’t have anything to speculate on beside the fact they’re scrapping everything for a new system
this thread has 2 purposes, one to possibly have someone from TC telling us something, the other to discuss what we would like to see in the upcoming changes
from my experience - I play ranked only, recently mixed with ffa because some days the matchmaking is just unbearable - my main concern is towards matchmaking.
From my observations up to op3 and multiple resets in between, I can tell despite the frustration of the post match scoreboard, not so balanced games and all the jazz we are used to, that if you landed a specific rank consistently during these months, you probably deserved it. Over such wide time frame I think every consistent ranked players sooner or later landed where they belonged.
I’ve seen enough players claiming they couldn’t get past something and after observing them in game, there were multiple obvious flaws possibly preventing them to make the jump to another rank
so I still wouldn’t expect bronzes jumping to diamonds and vice-versa with the new ranking system but I’d still want to talk about matchmaking rank restrictions
so far, from multiple evidence gathered around this very forum, we know there is a overall team score dictating who goes against who.
Between population during some hours, crossplay and current search algorithm we’ve seen low scored players matched with high ones to reach a score balance with a complete mess of a game which frustrated everyone at their skill level
so, despite how they will choose how to actually move people between ranks, I’d like to see some kind of restrictions during the calculation so we don’t have opposite ranks against each other ie masters against bronzes and comparable situations
The problem with the system is that it doesn’t reward you enough / take into account individual team mates or factors like quitting, AFK enough.
And when the losses hurt way too much,
Just takes all the enjoyment out of it.
For example,
I play almost all my games in a 2 or 3 and we constantly come up against 5 stacks or against 4s or even 3s where our team mates are just not good enough.
Get to Masters Top 5% in KOTH only for one bad game where I’m still MVP and lose so many points it kicks you down to Diamond 3!
Then next win, back up again.
It’s so Yo-Yo.

this happened when something did happen with the score system allowing people to exceed 20000 points…shuffled myself like that then back to business again
from a masters point of view, yes we often get matched with people that either just got the game or never bothered to link 2 neurons in their brain to allow them to not snipe with the gnasher

I’ve seen a lot of new accounts from highly skilled people that got matched against top ranks trying to derank them

Yes, exactly, when that happened, so did the Yo-Yo ranks.
Definitely, Masters level and just expected to have anyone on your team.
New accounts by top players is always an issue.
Happened yesterday where we won and I knew the other Smurf.
But normally every match we’re 50K vs 80K skill points.
This one, because of the smurf, was reversed so a sweaty game and didn’t even gain points because of it.
wouldn’t be if they added rank restrictions as I’ve suggested
after one completes TOD and reaches masters there’s literally nothing to do beside trolling
and it’s really annoying seeing the top player on the opposing team with one of those default xbox live gamertags and default skins
