TC please listen to us and I would have to assume the pro boys and girls. The new Omen is Fking awful and totally intrusive. Even if I have the choice to turn it off, I want our old one back. I know it is not a massive deal but it is iconic with Gears.

Because losing health and having huge UI confuse you even more is so helpful 
The good thing about the new one is that it constantly shows you the direction that you got shot or damaged from. It’s pretty helpful to keep track of where the danger from.
This new Omen gives perfect vision in the center?
Basically , according to you guys we should be playing Gears 1 over and over every year , because ANY change , is bad.
This Omen makes total sense.
It allows you to see stuff while being shot , and also gives the feel of being actually hurt with red blood flowing fullscreen.
But hey , who am I writing to , trying to put an opinion on the table against a ‘TRVE GNASHER CVLTIST’ is literally fighting windmills …
No, this change is actually bad. It’s gonna be damn near impossible to see. But this might be exclusive to Escape, which wouldn’t be too bad.
Everybody is allowed to have there opinion, so do you! It’s just that some of us are not digging the new one compared to the old one. I for one am definitely not against change! If fact I encourage it! I even go as far by saying the Swarm replacing the Locust was actually a good idea to spice things up a bit (they are basically the same though)
But with this omen it seems to be very hard to see the enemy, especially during Gnasher fights. I wonder how this will be seen during next month, when they show us some Vs mode.

Now, I get the matter of the new “omen” is different, but I’m really starting to get tired of some Gears players hating on anything that a developer tries to change about Gears. We can’t just sit on the same old things Gears 1 did nearly 13 years ago. Do you want the franchise to sit on a throne of gold or a throne of bones crumbling to dust(not literally, of course)? If you want the latter just keep arguing for Gears to never change. It was good 13 years ago but times have changed. If you refuse to realize that no one can help you.

take the new hud in consideration if youre a bouncy person like me i wall bounce not crazy wall bouncing but if u get so hurt and this giant red screen shows up and u cant see where the hell your trying to bounce to and move to youre done youre dead no way around that dude

You don’t even know how it feels like , you don’t know if visibility is actually afflicted by this.
You guys claim that Ghasher fights and wallbounce are going to be impossible - near blind - , but you just don’t know if it’s going to be like that.
Being hurt is a THING.
I mean , if somebody hits you with a stick in the knee , you’re not walking.
If somebody blows a grenade nearby you , you’re deaf.
If you’re bleeding a lot , you’re sights are going to be blurry.
You just can’t keep fighting like if it was nothing.
Luckily , Gears is a videogame , so you CAN. But you’re still going to know that you’re pretty damn hurt.
Being confused , stunned , nearly blind while being severely hurt it’s pretty damn REALISTIC , that’s why I like this thing.
Also , you have a giant COG of clear sight if front of you.
I seriously don’t find this thing much of a change-but for the better!-.
Back in the good ol’ days I used to be good at CoD MW2 , and I still menaged to get kills even after a sniper bullet in the guts. I know , TPS is different , but IMO , it only makes things easier , compared to a FPS.
It’s a whole matter of focus. You guys know it better than me.
Sometimes you keep it , some times you loose it.
…We don’t know if visibility is effected by this…OK, you have seen the rounds of Escape captures I assume.
I love Gears dearly but no it is not pretty REALISTIC, thankfully.

I think it’s far too early to judge this new omen until we play the beta and see how it feels in the thick of a fight.
Gears has tried new things in every installment. Gears 2 introduced the meatshield 3 introduced spotting 4 introduced close cover combat. All of these work because they do not take away from the original Gears formula, which I think is timeless, but rather they add to it.
Its not that we want the same thing every installment. That’s silly. Of course we want a new experience.
However, there is such thing as a wrong direction. Because we like some constants between the games. And to me, the Omen has ALWAYS felt like the constant for the franchise. Its the symbol of this franchise.
The Gears community has never been shy of expressing what they think is good and what they think sucks. Its passion.
