[Feedback After Tech Test & Release] Gears 5 New Inverse Omen

You still mash B in chainsaw duels.

I missed that, thank you so much!

No problem.

Having tried it and watched Ryan talk about it, I can understand what they were trying to do. The effect however both from the sides and the central inversion is just too heavy. Too much red making it harder to see other players.

I’m the same.

I’ve played it and when you get hit and it lights up,

Damn is annoying.

Why can’t you just have the Inverse Omen show direction and health.

You DO NOT NEED the sides!!!

After playing the Tech Test, this new omen is such a hindrance…

It’s supposed to “help” indicate the direction you’re being hit from. But when you get hit once and your screen turns red, you can’t see s**t and your indicator is of no help. It feels like you’ve been hit from all angles when the sides of your screen all light up red. But now we have to focus on a tiny spoke of the cog in amongst that mass of red…

Unfortunately guys/girls I don’t think it matters that a very high percentage of us do not “dig” the new system

I would imagine most of us are not pro/esports players or “content creators” that is who TC listen to.

I’m still amazed the pro players like it…assuming they really do!

I can’t see how anyone thinking logically likes this:

You are leaning against an open door with me mate

I don’t think the door is big enough for everyone to get through at this point

Almost everyone has critically slammed the Omen.

Just because of the excessive, dark red and skill filling nature.

The omen is ok.

Have it also be the health gauge.

Worked in the last 5 games.

My wife noticed the change and liked it :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll add her to the list of 3 people that seem to like it :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::+1:

There is another 2?

Yeah,

Probably the gent that made it and someone else from TC who approved it :grimacing:

I’m going to stay on topic from now on though :eyes:

After playing arcade, i honestly like the omen and it doesnt really borther me at all, but thats probably because the maps we have are fairly bright, on a darker map i think it would be hard to see when in the 90% range.

I’m sure that we will adjust over time, but I had a terrible time telling direction of fire yesterday, particularly when hit hard initially.

I can’t recall ever feeling like I didn’t know where damage was coming from in 4.

Tone the flower down please.

Like others have mentioned, maybe damage level just at the top of the screen with a more obvious indicator for direction.

It’s issues like this that TC simply don’t get. Fingers in ears ‘la la la’, like kids.

It might seem like a small change on paper, but for Gears fans with over 10 years of time, passion, dedication, memories etc, it’s not, not by a long shot.

Such a mistake giving such a huge gaming series to such an unknown and unproven dev team…even if we give them a pass for Gears 4 as they were new to it.

Oh, and I still want those SP maps I am owed from the promised 24…foggy swamp, windy forrest etc DO NOT COUNT!

I know I used to say I don’t mind it(still don’t really do), but after playing a game which would only really make the corners of the screen red(and still partially transparent, there also seemed to be a very light shade on the rest of the screen which didn’t change visibility) if you were on low enough health and in a not-so-dark environment, I’d say removing the red portion between the borders/corners or lowering its intensity and lowering the intensity of the red on the borders would be an adequate compromise… if the new omen is being kept which I see as very likely.

Though I must say, it’s practically impossible to see anything in the screenshot above - but is that not a case of extremes coming together by being full red and presumably blinded by a Flashbang at the same time?

The blood splatter on the screen is not as good as previous gears
