[Feedback After Tech Test & Release] Gears 5 New Inverse Omen

It’s trash. Even if you do say it’s for your new rifle play system. I cant see any reason for it to be that way. Watching the eSports stream is no where near as fun as 4 because it becomes cat and mouse so badly.

Omens horrible to look at in every single way. I could live with the omen, but the border of red can go completely or give the option for the old omen on top of new.

Don’t care if this gets closed due to how many people have said it already I want to add to the ammount of people wanting it changed so TC get the message.

Cheers

After watching pros I can tell it affects gameplay at critical moments. It’s too much. I’ll try it but it’s obvious the old omen is better.

There is an existing thread already. Wouldn’t have needed to create a new one just for it.

I still like it and always felt the old style was stupid because the obscured the thing you were trying to shoot. This one gives you a clear view of the target. I know it’s going to get changed or modified though because too many people are complaining and you can’t really do much new in a Gears game without outright revolt.

It actually helps you shoot because the omen was central to where your gun was pointing.

The new omen is fine too, it’s just the excessive amounts of red.

People are complaining for a reason, it’s a bad move.

The new omen literally obscures the vision of the player, look at how the PROS are even having issues with it and the game being more cat and mouse because of it.

People are not complaining for no reason on this, the new omen is garbage and they need to fix it ASAP.

(Unless some of the players said otherwise) The cat and mouse seems to be coming more from the limited respawns. Since getting killed is an even bigger detriment to your chances of winning the round/match, the players are probably being more cautious.

I disagree. The area of focus is more clear to me. People are freaking out about the amount of distortion, and because it’s different than what they know, but I think when they play it in multiplayer they’ll find the area of focus is more clear. My eyes instantly found it welcoming and I think it was an intelligent move by TC. Whether people can handle change is another thing.

I seldom look at the center of my screen when i’m getting shot at. I’m checking my surroundings and looking for places to navigate to but with this new system all I can see clearly is dead center so that’s not helping me.

I watched enough of the new stuff earlier to know I do not care for it. It supported my previous claims that they are heading in a Gears of Duty 2.0 direction.

Sure,

Especially when people are wall bouncing or when two people may be coming close from either side (sniper bullet that could full Red you).

The design needs to be toned down, that’s all.

Not against change, quite happy to test it out in a few days and see what it’s like for myself. It looks a little too much at the moment, but will know for sure shortly.

Would be curious to know what testing was done for people with any kind of sight issue.

I think it’s more helpful in escape than anything else

I waited like you said, i tried it myself like you said and still looks terrible like i said. Either get rid of it or give us the option to do so.

I waited until I got into the tech test and I have to agree, the inverse Omen is a terrible change.
Getting shot completely turns your screen red, it’s distracting and makes you lose sight of enemies in your peripheral vision.
Once you’re at 60% or more you might as well accept your faith, you wont be able to see where you’re going and the entire thing just looks like a punishment for surviving the first shot you took.

I’d gladly take a small red omen in my center screen over this. I hope this feedback helps change this feature.

I’m not a fan, please change it back

I agree, it should be put back to a Gears traditional omen or have an option for it. Some things just don’t need to be touched.

Tagged 2 enemies (different matches) with Shock nades, both didn’t go down. Actually 1 nade didn’t go off at all.

Lancer duels with repeated tapping of the rb is awful and there seems to be a delay in starting the chainsaw. I imagine due to it being mapped to the reload button ? Ignore, I misunderstood the instructions! Doh’

Omen is awful.please allow us choice with this. I want my old Omen back.

All above based on Arcade tdm.

After having played, I have to agree with everybody. The new Omen obtructs so much of your view, you become handycapt after getting damaged. Please tone it down!

After watching the first Gear in the Machine for Gears 5, and having played the beta, the Inverse Omen is growing on me. They just have to tone down the tunnel vision when you’re about to die.
