Most people who’ve actually played are fine with it. You’re not in the minority.

So the post above that I wrote, to which I am replying to, was just merged into this topic. Upon reading the very first post in this thread it has just answered my hope that the omen would be able to be turned off… sadly it’s not. I hope that sometime down the road this option is once again looked into and perhaps implemented or the ability to drastically tone it down can occur.
I don’t know what it is with this new omen and me personally, perhaps it’s just me, but for years of previous game playing I have seen numerous warnings of seizures occurring from video games. For the record, I have never experienced a seizure in all my years of playing (they are plenty) and I am certainly not experiencing seizures with the omen in this game, but I am definitely experiencing something, What I would call a “holy ****” moment, that results in me just stopping and waiting a few seconds or so before I can regain awareness of my surroundings after being blinded by the red everywhere. As a result of having to stop in my tracks, my immediate death is imminent . Yeah, that’s a far cry from being a seizure… but I’m telling you its real.

More like a small handful are okay with it but I will say its a 50/50 split then.
They must be literally blind to not notice that …
wtf that even means ?? it covers 80 % of your screen ! and you saying people will not notice that ??
People ok with it because they:
1). Like it
2). Know TC won’t be changing it so have accepted it
3). Convinced themselves they now like it
I’m that’s a big group.
But no where near the amount of people you can clearly seen that don’t like it, and it’s actually been a big group that have been vocal against it.
I’d rather not have it, doesn’t mean I can’t play with it.
For me,
It’s bad design and step backwards when you can do it so much better than what we have.

This thread is for feedback specifically on the new Inverse Omen.
Precisely why I chose that picture, the indicator is there for where the damage is coming from. It’s crazy how they think this new abomination is better! Apparently it’ll show what kind of damage e.g. ice, but seriously who cares? Damage is damage.

A little bit of damage is still playable. But when you get full on red it’s a total disaster…

I really wish they would give the option to revert to classic omen in ranked versus if we wish. Leave it in arcade mode and/or escape where it sort of integrates with one of the hero abilities.
Number 1 makes sense but your number 2 reason shouldnt even be a thing. I mean its so common with game companies not to listen to their fan base but as TC has claimed that they listen to us more than any other game company out their; I think this is one of many things that should be listen to and changed.
I personally after giving it a try, still very much do not like the inverse omen. I get the this meta to rifle play etc. and for them to have visual but you can see in your older post of the other gears where you can clearly see where you are shooting with the rifle and there is still a direction of damage indication.
The whole rifle meta is just a defense against the mild backlash of fans not liking it. If I recall before they said anything about the new meta being a factor they said someone made the change just to try it and ran with it. Indicating to me that there was no strategic thought to why they have it the way they do.
In the end, I would welcome a toggle in the settings to have the old omen. I am not going to get used to the red covering 95% of my screen.

i never got into the tech test mainly because of the reverse omen. there for i will be canceling my preorder if they cant change it on time. gears 1, 2, 3 and 4 are much better then gears 5 lol
What if they did away with the red screen and did a hollowed out gear that gets darker as you take damage with an arrow or line to show bullet direction? This should work for their Rifle Meta because we can still see through it and make gnasher users happy because they can still see around it.
I think this is feasible to do before September and should make everyone happy about the omen anyway.

i like the new omen but they just need to make it a bit more transparent
This is what I hope will be tried.
When taking rifle fire you can adjust as you know where the shots are coming from but when hit with the Gnasher you can barely see anything as it near fully covers the screen in red , so hope its toned down a bit
I will agree with this if there is no option for toggle to turn it off completely or a toggle to switch to classic omen. I unfortunately dont want to settle and be defeated by developers.

The reverse omen sucks. Plain and simple. We dont want it. Give us a health bar. It’s an easy fix or im not buying
