What kind of setup would you run if you wanted to kill all the enemies in the 2nd act? I was thinking a marksman, veteran and tactician could do it, but I could never manage it in op 4.
Me and my team pulled through by the skin of our teeth with Tactician, Marksman and Pilot, back when the hive launched. We failed like a good ten times in chapter 2.
Our plan was to hold our ground on the second supply cache and just kill things. Problem was the shielded Warden, and the fact that eventually the Venom would catch up while there were many enemies still around. For that moment, we had the Pilot push through aggressively.
I’ll say our strategy was far less than optimal, but we didn’t come up with anything better.
Okay,
made it last night with randoms, but it was inconcievable and i was only able to get one tag. I did not take a chance on the second and third door. I was at -36 so missed the gold cards.
I am working my brawler and followed suggestions. I think i am not using brawler correctly. i can not seem to get the slide tackle down. My malee hits seem to be no different with him. I was doing melee brawl with 2 randoms we where all cole and they seem to get more damge done then me. my cole is 19. i have good cards, so i think its me not the set up or cards.
Please help on the slide tackle maybe i am not doing it right.
I got some extra tips for a non-convetional strategy, in case you want to give Onslaught a shot again some time.
I did Onslaught with just one other person. Inconceivable, and we ran through the second chapter. Me (Architect) had two mid-level score boosts and my team mate (Blademaster) only had one. We made sure to hit only the second supply cache in chapter 2 for any tags, and we only got one there. We also made sure we both had Longshots for the active headshot bonuses, and we held our ground at the landing pad for a couple minutes. With this strategy we managed to get ourselves the highest reward with more than ten minutes ahead of the required time.
The reason I was playing Architect is because I find the ult to be super-handy on the Elite Drone hallway near the end, and said Elites are so distracted with the Hologram, we can headshot several of them with ease.
For Brawler, are you using Torch Tackle? This card will get you the most out of your tackle, but for the damage boost, the enemy must be set on fire first. This card does make it so the tackle sets enemies ablaze, so a second tackle on the same target is where the damage shines.
The score penalty on anything below Master difficulty is pretty massive. Honestly, you will need to fight and clear at least one area in the 2nd half if you hope to get the gold score.
On Master you start on 0:00:00, and COG tags are worth more. Based on your time of -36 minutes, even if you got the other COG tags I doubt you would not have gotten your target time on Inconceivable. You can’t run part 2 on anything less than Master and expect to get that score.
I was playing with some randomers on Master, got a few active headshot kills in part 1 to buff the score, ran part 2 and managed to grab 5 of the 6 COG tags overall with just my Epic Score Boost card (level 6) and got over -1 hour even though my team mates both died (which results in a 5 minute penalty per player). Based on the scoreboard my team mates didn’t use any skill cards.
It isn’t unachievable on inconceivable, like I explained on my previous post. My team mate and I had lvl3-4 epic score boosts. We tried to get headshots instead of turret kills on big targets for chapter one, and made a quick stop for tags on chapter two. Including the brief fight at the landing pad, we must have killed some right elite drones waiting there, plus a few poppers. The active headshots make a huge difference.
Right, but you’ve compensated for some of the points which RedDoog didn’t get and your team mate also had a score card on which helps. Let me rephrase my initial comment - I’m not saying it’s impossible, just you need to make up the lost points elsewhere instead of just running, hence why I said he would need to fight one of the encounters (which you did to an extent by drawing out the helipad bit before shutting the door).
Doing it on Master may seem more daunting, but it actually allows more wriggle room because the difference in score will be quite significant. Vuirtually all of the scores I’ve seen at the saferoom (halfway stage) on Master difficulty is in the region of -00:40:00 to -00:55:00,
Indeed. Even with mid-level score cards, just a few headshots on Elite Drones and one tag for chapter two got the job done.
If it helps for reference, we reached around -00:45:00 by the end of chapter one. We tried to get those headshots on the Salvo Scions, since they are worth a ton of time.
EDIT: I must add that the reason we ran it on Inconceivable, is because we have been fed up with the current version of Ironman. Good thing it’ll be gone by next week.
My team had Fahz, Clayton and Keegan back in op4. Keegan had Venom boost, venom explosives resupply and resupply duration plus 2 score cards. Clayton had Bait armor, Heavy capacity and concussive explosives plus 2 score cards. Fahz - ambush, exploit weakness and modified longshot .
We made it out with -3:05 or so. But it would have been 3:15 if my teammates didn’t die. We fought and tried to kill everything.
Yeah I think to get the gold the second chapter has to be runned with tags and some kills some where to get -55:00
I try again tonight on master and take a shot at tags in the second room after clean room before i break out of that big room.
I was taking head shots at the DB, but i think what hurt us is the 2 randoms jumped on the turrets at the begining, but they did not stop the flanks, so we had to spend time surviving that then again on the stairs. We wasted lots of time on both parts.
Gone by next week? Was there an announcement I missed on Ironman cutscene?
Ironman is getting changed so it only prevents pod rescues of dead team mates. No more getting booted back to lobby, from what I understand.
That’d be awesome. Where did you see that?
Dev posted this earlier this week.
Did the speedrun method today and didn’t get the gold, unfortunately. Only got the rank below that one (the six cards), like -46 or something. Don’t think anyone had score boosts. Will have to run it again with score cards now. Probably helps to get Scion spawn too as those can be more easily headshotted. You know, I should just run it as Marksman if I really want that gold. Using him is the easiest method to rack up the headshots.
I’m not sure why people are struggling to get the time by running through second act on master. I played infiltrator with both lvl 6 score cards on and no one else had score boosts. We killed everything first half and I picked up all 3 tags. Second half we ran. I active headshot a couple elite drones while running. My time was -68 minutes. Seems like there is something missing in between my time and others on this post.
I don’t know the specifics of scoring but during first half I wasn’t playing too much like Kait. I was active headshotting with long shot. Don’t know if that can make up a 20+ minute difference with score boosts. Our marksman also died 1st half in the beginning of second section. That used to add 4 minutes of time. I also mark everything and was constantly on comms reminding them to spot.
Toxic community on this map.
Equipped 2 level 6 score cards and told them in the lobby I equipped those.
The first Cog tag I picked up the host went mental (spamming his knife to me), paused the game and instakicked me.
Yeah I know, I should not play with randoms
Yeah totally. Reason I couldn’t even give it another try last night was because people kept kicking me in the lobby and I said screw it. Don’t even know why I was the target for kicking. I was only coming in as high-level top-tier classes that would be helpful on the map and my re-up is 21 which shouldn’t throw up red flags. I think this map is just causing people to be very high strung and have an itchy kick button finger, probably due to numerous past fails. What they should do is show like a snapshot of stats for the players who come in, such as how many completes, how many Master completes, classes often played, etc. At least it would let people quickly determine who are serious players and who aren’t. While I’m not the best player, I feel like people are assuming I’m some noob only there to screw things up for them which isn’t the case.
It happens to all of us. I’ve been kicked several times when I tried to join public lobbies because people either didn’t like the class I’m playing or they didn’t want anyone to join ( why do you keep your lobby open then is another question).
Usually when I do dailies I open my own lobby and when I play for fun (or frustration more like it) I try joining and helping other players. But no good deed goes unpunished lol
Let me know if you need help with onslaught. I will play tonight ( East coast time around 7pm)
Thanks! Was gonna take you up on that after getting frustrated with randoms today, but guess who came to the rescue? The man himself @Bleeding_Pepper as Gunner. I wore lvl 6 and lvl 5 score boosts on my lvl 19 Tactician hoping to get some of his new cards, but don’t think I got any ;-(. The other guy was Combat Medic and he did a good job too. Not sure anyone else had score boosts on except me. Pepper was lighting it up and he was marking everything. How do you mark that fast, bro? Was a little worried going in that we didn’t have an Infiltrator or Brawler to deal with the elite drones in 2nd act quickly, but we ended up headshotting them with longshots instead. I went down at one point, but the Medic picked me up and we all made it out. We ended up with -1:35 which was well over the target.
