Escape safe room loading

This may be elsewhere but a search for escape loading brought up nothing.

Anyone else noticed that loading the next chapter of a hive (the saferoom) is SUBSTANTIALLY longer this operation?

I am on pc and literally could load the next chapter in around 15 seconds when playing alone or with other pc players last operation. Now, its a minute long wait to load the next chapter even when playing solo.

It is very noticeable considering i played with a friend who was on series x and he loaded past the initial screen super fast when compared to the one x…but then we got to safe room and its just twiddling our thumbs waiting on the game.

Side note - during this loading we are unable to aim or shoot our guns.

Anybody else?

Yes, it’s been mentioned in several threads, and it sucks. It’s also not new to the Operation. An update before the OP launched introduced it.

It adds about 30-40 seconds of load to every safe room. Super annoying for Surge speed runs.

Thumb up reply.

Thumb down poor optimization :pensive:

I think they put a timer switch in the safe room tiles. You can actually hear it go off at some point, like a door opening/closing. Why exactly they did that, I don’t know.

Someone timed the different decon-rooms: Decontamination Wait Times (Updated)
From what I know, custom hives aren’t affected by this. The issue was introduced with the TU that also brought Lv20-cap too early iirc.

@TC_MichaelAOS Are you guys aware of this issue?

I have little trust in TC but there’s no way this was done on purpose. Even Series X.user suffer from this issue, right?
The sound is the shower-door closing which should play right away.

I thought they added it to show off the power of the Series X to show how much ‘quicker’ it is. lol

Yeah, but that sound does play normally, right? Why would it do it twice?
AFAIK, everybody suffers from this problem at the moment, regardless of platform.
Either it was done on purpose, maybe because some of the hives had weird loading problems or something got screwed up. Either way, it sucks.

Because something broke? I’m assuming the game doesn’t register the showers closing the first time and for some reason forces progress after a certain amount of time.

It’s especially noticeable on The Mist where the blue filter isn’t applied until the sound plays a 2nd time.

I haven’t played any custom hives since the problem occurred, but if you say they are unaffected, then it’s indeed more likely a bug than a feature. The Forever hive is still completely broken too, so I have a feeling this unfortunately won’t get a priority to be fixed.

Load times are much worse. I thought I noticed it last night, but I didn’t say anything. Glad it’s seen noticed as well.

I think its still the same.
This bug carried over from OP4 to OP5 and TC didn’t bother to fix it at all… let alone acknowledge this.

So guess what I found out today…

Playing a custom hive and I didn’t have to be waiting in any of the saferooms for an eternity! Be nice to hear what TC has to say about that.

Yes they are. I’m playtesting my own hive right now.

That’s weird cause I played one a week or two ago and it didn’t take long at all to load out of the saferoom.

So they broke it even further? That’s actually impressive.

They do this on purpose to stop speed run on Surge and Clock or speed run in general. You use to be able to get like 36 cards on surge insane speed run. Per hour. Now it’s probably like 28 cards now because it takes 1 min for the stupid door to open to complete second part.

And they had to break ALL hives in order to achieve that instead of putting double Wardens or something in front of the decon-rooms?

Leaving that aside, a certain group of people know that there are far easier ways to get cards that aren’t affected by this bug.

Yeah. The little window thing next to the exit door fills up with venom completely, and then it takes even longer, before it decides to open.

I don’t share the same experience. While yes, it takes a few seconds to load out of the saferoom in player made hives too, it is not long enough to fill the window on the side of the room with the gas. Much shorter than when loading out of it in the TC hives. I also figured cause I’d started reading something preparing for a long wait, but then the doors were about to open up on me.

Mind you, I just played a custom hive, albeit solo. So it’s not a dated experience.
