Came back and did 2 hives on master, 1 left. Thought it was weird that when in the safe room, it would take a lot longer to load up into the next chapter. Thought it was because of the mist mechanic.
Nope. Turns out all escape hives are like this now with a safe room. Why make the player wait that long? Clearly it isnt an engine limitation and you are purposely delaying the amount of time in to start the next chapter of escape. You can use the reasoning of “oh well we wanted to give you more time” but as a consequence you add on A LOT of time onto people doing escape runs with friends, especially ironman mode master runs, and nerf farming of cards from hives such as the clock and the surge. Wanted to farm cards with clay and realized just how much time has been added in the process due to this no matter what you do. Guess this was TC’s solution to make people do other hives, make long wait times in more than 1 chapter hives. Disgusting, just wanting you to spend coins on insanely priced upgrades (the purple/golds).
Pretty much ruined my mood to bother getting back into the game, at least PvE. PvP still sucks so guess that’s gears 5 for me. Still waiting for my iron for esports skins as I got con’d out of 10000 iron lol.
Don’t worry. In my short 6 hour span of playing gears 5 again today, I witnessed 2 huge bugs in escape. About to finish a hive on masters with Clay and about to use my ult. I die to an invisible rocket from a sentinel that wasn’t even looking at me and just spawned 30 feet away along with other units. Also activated the med bay on 2nd act but we did so after someone already died. Me and my partner died after and instead of respawning us, it just sat there for a good minute, then just said objective failed. LMFAO? what’s the point of a medic bay if it doesn’t even work? Better yet, what’s the point of putting a med bay on chapter 1 of an escape @ the end if it doesnt carry over?
