Double stars greed

Why cant the double stars be free, instead of having the use iron. Its the dumbest thing ever. Here is our weekly event but if you havnt got iron for boosts, you’ll have to pay. I do have iron and boosts but can see a tour of duty down the line having some awesome skins but thats when everyones boosts have ran out. Scummy

Yes it is an incentive to buy boost. But as seen with this tour you dont need double stars to get everything.

Im nearly at the top yes but i got a feeling Tc will up the star requirements when they drip feed us good stuff

I forgot where they said it but ToD is all free content. We should never have to pay for anything. If you pay iron to re roll your dailies then thats on you.

Its only the middle of October and a lot of people are pretty much done with the tour so so I cant see TC going too crazy with the future ones

Lots of people? Only 1% of players have unlocked Liuetenant rank and that isn’t even half of ToD.

Only purpose of this bs system is to sell iron. Not everyone has time to log in every day and then use their limited gaming time to grind medals. They definitely could usa a double star event but of course it’s behind a paywall too.

This system adds nothing to the game. Can’t believe there are gamers defending it.

According to TA tracked gamers over 1,000 have it.

3 million odd played at launch, so roughly 1 in every 3000 players has reached General.

I am not arguing with either you or RED’s interpretation just wanted to post some stats.

Those are tracked TA gamers though. Only 0,17% of all players have unlocked General. Out of 3 million that’s like 5000 players…

Yes, hence why I mentioned that :stuck_out_tongue:

Lies, damned lies, and statistics. Instead of percentage, you spin it into “1 in 3000”. Heh.

It’s 0.033333333 percent. It’s so bad that this is most likely only for players that have boost. They have higher level characters and thus able to get more stars for medals beyond the daily tour objectives.

Weekly WEEKEND event only for a separate community of players. Freaking segregation when people paid full price for the game and only have time to play on WEEKENDS.

In other news, the double escape XP event is postponed. The priorities…

Ok  but it’s kind a useless stat because only small percentage of gamers are TA tracked and those are usually achievement hunters and more active gamers.

edit. Of course there are more than 3 million players by now but still it’s a small percentage. I wouldn’t mind this ■■■■■■ grind system if it wasn’t time-limited. It’s definitely hurting the game, all because of $$

I can definitely see the forums/Twitter/Reddit flooded with complaints about how xp gain is slow because they’re accustomed to the double xp. Definitely a sneaky tactic by TC and MS to give us over a month’s worth of boost.

As for the stars, honestly, doesn’t really bother me. It’s easy to rank up in ToD if you know what you’re doing without the need to grind like hell or pay iron.

EDIT: Also, lol at the dude talking about segregation again.

It isn’t spin, it’s literally the same thing. I’m also off as I was only counting TA gamers, according to the other person I am off by 5 times, as its currently 0.17 percent.

It’s a wording optics. 1 in 100 sounds better than 1%. Even though there’s not just “100” players, but there are 1 million or 1 billion, etc. See?

If that’s the case than there’s a chance that for the next Operation, TC will decide to tone down the grind a bit. Highly doubt they’ll keep it as is if less than one percent reaches General rank, unless of course they see a boost in their boost sales close to the end of this Operation and decide to side with their greedy side.

Even with boost I say xp gain is so sluggish…

I agree. I can’t imagine what it will be like when boost is gone

I have no idea how someone can defend it, should be a boost to everyone, not just people that pay for it. Saturday is the day most people can sit on their xbox and smash some gears in, so why ■■■■ on people that dont wanna spend money to get a boost as most of them are probably loyal fans anyway.

Yeah, this is just one of many decisions I don’t agree with. When special events roll around it should really be for everybody.

Sadly I don’t see them backtracking in this decision. I feel they should extend boost to everybody every time they mess up an event too, because just extending the event or having it at a different date doesn’t help people if they don’t have boost anymore.

That’s 1% of the over 3 million plus that have played gears 5. How many of them are actually still playing even?

I don’t know. Majority of people never touch multiplayer. But even so, number of people doing ToD is quite small. I think this shady system is driving players away.
