Don't add beta tunning

I take you’re an angry kid, still I’ll reply to your silly statements.
I hope you have the knowledge to keep up with me

fighting games don’t work on magic.
you can cancel some moves after a set number of frames usually even the first active one that always comes after the startup frames

in gears, your character’s animations follow the speed/acceleration settings of the slide, have you ever seen someone hyperbouncing?

get better fingers maybe…just hold roadie at the start of the match and you won’t roll

I just roll at spawn out of habit lol. By playing PvP in the past entries, doing anything but rolling out of spawn feels… wierd.

Lol no. Some fighting games allow you to cancel out of an action by using meter. You make a mistake and you dont want to be punished, you sacrifice resources to correct your mistake. If you dont have the meter you get punished. As it should be. 90% of my video game time is in some arbitrary fighter, let’s not lie here .

There are zero competitive fighting games that let you cancel animations for free, that would remove the threat of punishment completely (unless youd argue that jump canceling / fdac / special canceling is “free”, all those require hard commitments that a player can punish)

gears mp will never be mainstream popular, and thats fine it does not need to be. Running around like a headless chikcen and mindlessly up A’ing people is the only saving grace of this turd.

I agree 100%. TC please leave the tunings as they are now currently in OP5. Movement and speed feel fine. Let’s quit while we’re ahead. I played the Beta tuning and didn’t like the slower movement. Feels like molasses. While the core mechanics aren’t perfect, they are better than the Beta tuning.

Take the win and leave it be.

Why is the first reaction to someone saying they prefer the new tuning always some passive-aggressive/insulting nonsense?

I don’t get all the “I bet you’re not good” comments. Everyone deserves a say whatever level they are at.

No just do to the foolishness of altering a game this far out.

5v5 needs to be brought back immediately as the game fills empty.
It doesn’t even fill like a warzone anymore.
The maps are too big and slowing it down at all just makes it feel boring.
No constant action and will be deleting the game once this is standard across all game modes.

Hey person that can’t read, I never said I rolled at the start of the match as im on pc and they aren’t even the same mapped buttons.
also person that can’t handle reality…there is still a delay at the start of the match.

also person that can’t accept they were wrong…my example about fighting games CLEARLY made sense and stood on its on…which is why you couldnt refute it…just tried to use BS to gloss over that reality there didn’t ya?
ahahahahaha

How about that you broken minded “kid.”

your example was moot and another guy told you were wrong, there’s nothing like you tried to mention so please go talk nonsense somewhere else or accept the reality of the fact your points don’t stand, at least not in the form you tried to start a debate with.

educate yourself on the topics you want to discuss then quote me again next time.
kthxbye

lol you time in this world is over enjoy the low birth rate. the future isn’t yours

everything i said made sense you are just WRONG and spoiled and entitled and feel like you are always correct.
there is clearly a delay in the start of the match.
again enjoy the future and watching that birth rate

Wait the game is going to be slowed down even more now?

yep

The new tuning makes the game more consistent, and this consistency will inevitably lead to a higher skill gap. This is just how it is — the people trying to argue that it reduces the skill gap literally must believe that skill is limited to how quickly you can hit buttons ignoring every other aspect, including the history of the franchise itself where Gow1 & Gow2 both had higher skill gaps and were slower paced than this beta tuning.

I will say this part — I think they nerfed the wrong things with the tuning. Wallbouncing and wall cancel is genuinely quite skillful, but more importantly it’s a lot of fun and the ability required to make it work/useful combined with what you get out of it is such that I don’t actually believe it’s that overpowered.

The least skillful thing in the game is shooting out of your runs, and it isn’t nerfed anywhere nearly as bad as wallbouncing is on the beta tuning. Shooting out of runs in Gow4 & 5 is the worst, most overpowered movement mechanic in the history of this series, and it escapes nerfs every single time.

The best thing about the tuning in my opinion is the weapon swap speed being lengthened, this punishes players for having the wrong guns out, increases the skillgap, it’s exactly what GoW needs more of. They should have stuck with this theme of punishing mistakes — for instance there should be a much longer delay when you come out of a roll. Every person reading this has died to people coming out of rolls/runs who never finished the animation on their screens more times than they can remember, happens every game. People make a mistake, or they’re unaware, and not only is this mistake not punished, they’re sometimes rewarded by being able to shoot someone who doesn’t even know they’re in a position to shoot.

Ideally for me, you’d keep the weapon swap speed from beta tuning, add a longer delay to shooting out of runs and rolls, and leave everything else as it is right now. Maybe slowdown the up-a speed, maybe — but I like it.

Edit: https://twitter.com/sSnubs/status/1217498019307950081 that clip is everything I’m talking about. I did that to the pro player sleafer in a singles match when he was like 60-0 — you shouldn’t even be able to do that to a silver ranked player, meanwhile you can do it to people who’ve literally won GoW eSports events.

I’m not bothered about the slower movement, however, I definitely think 5v5 needs to come back.

that expression doesn’t make sense in this context
