Does TC REALLY thing we won't notice these nerfs? Is that why they never say anything about them? Clayton's ultimate

I almost don’t play as Clay (He is level 18 but cards are low level, I have 0% on Clay achievement too), but I noticed this when others plays as him.

Played Escape (The Split), we depended on Clay to clear a path. He is in the middle of the gunfight, but suddenly Guardian stop paying attention when he used his ultimate.

I know some players said that horde was boring and easy, but doing this is not the correct way to increase difficulty. Or at least that the enemies shoot you and when they receive damage stop firing. This feels more smart that anticipating the ultimate

Noticed this as well and wondered if I was imagining things. Apparently not.

To be successful against flying enemies, as others have said, I wait until I’m actually taking damage, then quickly activate it. Usually enough bullets left hitting me to take down the enemy.

This is a result of shotgun pellets hitting the unshielded weapon underneath the body of the flyer, which causes bleed damage. You’re actually better off doing that with Kait instead of trying to bring the shield down using shotguns, in my experience. Of course if the teammates take the shield down…

That’s called AI, not a big deal.

Yeah, but that only works against enemies which don’t insta down you, and it assumes the ultimate will activate in time, and not just result in your lancer reloading (that last one is a classic-Alt issue, where the ultimate activate is RB-LB).

I took the bleed off of my Clayton load, since it’s useless… It works well against stumps, but that’s IT… the little guys, who cares, the really dangerous things, they don’t shoot at you… So what’s the point…

it still works as protection, sure, but the bleed aspect of it is largely useless now. And that’s a Gold card, lol…

Thanks, TC…

Contrary to the narrative of this thread, this is a bug, not an intentional change. I will take a look and see if we can get a fix for it soon. Thanks.

Thanks for that.

Also while you’re here (apologies for just pouncing on you like this), could you confirm if you and your colleaguea are aware of the duplicate Clayton exploit please? I and some other players have already submitted a ticket via the official site, but figure that as you’re here then to let you know if you don’t already.

Yeah, we know about this one and I hope we can share an update soon.

Well, just going based on personally witnessed repeated past behavior, lol…

Fair enough, good to know it’s not intended. Thanks.

Called it

Edit: good to know it’ll be fixed at some point.

Yeah I’ve noticed that as well in my runs on the split. I figured other people were dealing with the same BS. On gatekeepers I ended up resorting to salvo since I knew my ultimate would be useless.

I think you’re supposed to replace reflect shredder with uncle clay and get another player to join as clayton with the same

Lol, yeah I don’t particpate in any glitches. I know most of the community loves them. I find them boring for the most part.

Resorting to salvo since you know that your ultimate would be useless is a form of participating in a glitch. Which was why I tossed out an antithetical glitch since in theory a harmful glitch + a helpful glitch should negate each other and result in no glitch at all

No assertions though, it’s just sad that the same guy has good and bad glitches so that everone who loves Clayton loses.

Oh really? How about the one that lets Clay get healing from latent reflect shredder bleed damage as he’s holding a heavy because the game mistakenly registers it as heavy damage? Haha, j/k it’s more a bug than a glitch. Not your fault it’s coded that way. The difference between a bug and a glitch, I believe, is doing something strange and out of the way and that you wouldn’t normally do to take advantage of a coding error. I suppose just holding a heavy wouldn’t qualify. Anyway, was bored last night and searched Escape solo Gatekeepers vids and came across your Clay run. Especially nice job on the explanation vid. Explanation vids like this are more what I’m looking for when I search up escape guides. Whoever is making an escape guide next please take note of how this man does an explanation because this is the most helpful way to do a guide, IMO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tN-VPfKCmIc

You know what I mean.lol. But yeah, I mentioned the salvo thing in my video. I’m hoping to do more tutorials along with gameplay. Hopefully it makes a difference in the community.

I’m glad you like the explanation video, I like putting more detail in it by having starts and stops.

I remember when we were playing, I believe that happened to me a few times. I only force those actions when I knew venom was approaching to fast, other than that I’ll wait a little until enough enemies come, especially when DR-1’s are added. But it primarily depends on the other teammates and their level of patiences, and knowing the situational awareness of what’s going on.

Wow so someone else Solo’d it with Clay Too!

Some of his strats were better mine like the snatcher and swarmak! but salvo is the way to go after seeing how much I struggled with the mulcher on the LZ

Mulcher is simply to weak of a heavy weapon, it’s only good in the mulcher scions’ hands, in terms of escape. Salvo is so powerful regardless of who’s holding it.

Are you trying to solo it?
