I finally played the game made it have way through act 2 and del and kait are probably the most annoying character ive dealt with in any game. After JD section which i thought was good everything went downhill.
Thankfully gamepass made this game a flop maybe they try harder on their next game and not launch on gamepass terrible business plan

I dont have a problem with Kait per se but I tell you this, I wouldn’t be a huge Gears fan if it wasn’t for the OG Delta Squad and EVERYTHING that came with. It gate crashed the genre as an OTT bro shooter and has lost it’s way since… Gears 5 has basically forgot what made the franchise so popular in the first place. And yes, I’m referring to how it’s not as dark, gloomy and testosterone heavy.
Maybe this could’ve been handled better with the next gen of characters after Delta but this current Squad, JD, Kait, Dell… aint it. JD’s character is a more interesting one imo cos of his lineage but as it currently stands, he has a ‘can’t get out his fathers shadow’ problem. And as a result, Gears has a ‘cant get out of the original trilogies shadow’ problem,
So in short, please don’t center Gears 6 around Kait.

She really started to annoy me at “no detours” I just wish she’d see the bigger picture. Also none of the new characters really fell like people and are quite bland
Don’t really mind kait., Mostly because she can’t see the bigger picture in act 4 of gears 4 and refuses backup. But I wouldn’t mind playing as her. Also I feel like when they put female characters into these kinds of games they should be more muscly as they do all the “macho” jobs the men do and it doesn’t make sense for them to be skinny

I think the main reason I don’t like kait is that she kinda reminds me of that girl from life is strange. In appearance and writing.
She’s too emotionally compromised. She’s okay in Act 2 until the Snatcher part.

Besides being a forced protagonist, nah. I liked her in 4, but she became annoying in 5. Well, I don’t like that game as a whole either ways.

Late comment but I prefer my old Delta Squad.
This might be late but it has nothing to do with playing as late. You obviously are new to the gears series. Kate doesn’t do ■■■■ and she expects everyone to just help her no matter what. She doesn’t follow orders but she also doesn’t know what to do. She is hated for this but in other gears of war games you would actually do a lot of things. These new ones are focused on finding someone’s mom which people literally speed run the entire game just to find out it was all around finding someone’s mom. Lol not just this but she says things like “he was my friend told “ to either jd or del who knew each other sense childhood. She’s sick in the head and I wish her mother killed her instead of jd or del. would make more sense.
Yeah but not only did you manage to spell her name wrong but I started this thread in 2018 with prior knowledge of Gears back then. I don’t like to play the “06 veteran give respect” game but I can.
Btw the goal of all three OG games was “Kill the Locust” “Find Dom’s Wife” and “Find Marcus’ Dad,” I don’t see how “Find Kait’s mom” is so out there and left field for Gears. Every single Gears game features a plotline of you having to track someone down, just because you don’t care doesn’t change that fact.

1 -Dom mentions tracking Maria in Gears 1 when talking to Franklin; also the first “Mission” you have is to find Alpha squad.
2 - Dom and Maria again. Then later with Benjamin, Tai, Baird and the Queen—all characters you seek out and or track down.
3 - GOW3 is all about finding Adam, and Raam’s Shadow is contingent on the fact that Zeta are looking for and attempting to evac a city of civilians.
J - Judgement has a whole section dedicated to searching for some pedophile Professor.
Either in a small way or major way every one of the classic Gears games has a section dedicated to seeking out a person, and Gears 3 hinges on it even though it’s often credited as the greatest game in the series.
