Usually not one to complain but is anyone experiencing some serious connection issues with packet loss symbol after the update? Call me crazy but it seems like some people aren’t experiencing it and are taking total advantage of it. Also since the update guess whats on the rise… bot shots smh
Oh. They experience the update, but fluctuating ping people just take advantage of it.
Think about it. Every match has the one guy at least that charges everyone with no fear. Wrecks everyone while remaining hard to kill.
They know who they are.
7 gnasher hits 98% & I get 1 shotted.
Somethings up. I still played a few after that but I just had to play knowing somethings up.
For sure somethings up…
I am a horde and escape player, and my ping will randomly jump to 1900 in the middle of games. I have no connection issues whatsoever in any other games I play. It’s absurd.
If you’re seeing spikes during matches there is definitely an issue on your end. The problem is finding what’s causing an intermittent issue is tricky and time consuming.
My WiFi is definitely far from the best, but I just have trouble seeing how it’s on my end when every single other game I play online has a very good connection, with nearly never any connection issues. Gears 5 is the only game that will do this to me for whatever reason.
Gears has some differences in it which may make it more obvious. Wifi in general is a recipe for disaster and avoiding it should be your top priority if at all possible. Too many variables that can go wrong.
Well I did try using my phone hotspot a bit to get off of my WiFi and see if it would help, but the same issue occurred. I’d play for a bit with a good connection, and then suddenly my ping would shoot up and I’d be booted from the game, and have to close and then restart the game itself to fix the issue.
Idk bro i have fiber network and its hardwired and im still getting the packet lost sign followed by the network symbol and its only in gears and honestly its only been happening since the last update during the beta test jt was smooth and everything but once the update the problems started
I’ve gotten that too but never get ping spikes to go along with it. No doubt there’s an issue there.
A hotspot isn’t reliable either. I’d be curious to know if this happens on a hardwire. Is it possible to get an Ethernet to the PC or Xbox?
I’m admittedly unsure. I suppose I could give it a try. I’m just tired of having so many problems with this game. I quit shortly after release until the end of op 3, and I’m close to just quitting again because of these connectivity issues. I’m spending as much time trying to make the game work as I am actually playing the game.
I feel ur pain back in op2 i had to Uninstall and reinstall the game like 3xs in one month cause it wouldn’t connect i tried contacting support but it took a solid month before i had a reply
It’s frustrating I’m even considering quitting this game for Connectivity issues, and not because the games bad. I truly love the games PvE side in it’s current state. I can’t get enough of it. Problem is that I can’t even play it. It’s a shame really.
They need to address these things before they loose even more long time players
I really hope they do something. I want to keep playing this game. But I’m not going to if things don’t improve by the beginning of op 5. Fingers crossed.
I think this has been an issue since before the update. It was happening to me quite a bit a few weeks back, admittedly it did go away for a bit and then yesterday I had it really bad during a ranked match. There’s a thread on here from a few weeks back anyways where packet loss issues were discussed and TC Sera got involved to some degree.
Do u know the link by chance? Or if they said there will be an update?
There’s your problem right there. Wifi connections are largely unstable. They can be affected by so many things at any time. Its usable for sure but does not meet the consistency of a wired connection.
This is what I was referencing. Not all that relevant tbh, sorry it was a month ago. It looks like TC Sera gave an official response as to what the symbols were, but didn’t comment on any uptick in their presence. Probably your best bet if you think the update has done anything to your connection is to submit a ticket.
