Del dies in Act 1, Chapter 3 (This is War) before the checkpoint on Inconceivable, therefore destroying the campaign

I thought even back in Gears of War 4 if I’m not mistaken? At least the Ironman one should still be the same broken ■■■■. These achievements never really had any value…

Me too but before to take the first Jack’s component ( Act 1 Chapter 2) :
Kait dies without knowing why and where … forced to restart the game.
A bug with the Ironman option?

And another bug with Jack’s abilities progression activated : 2 first abilities are lost (I think from Act I chapter 3) and no other abilities available :

While all the abilities have been obtained to the max previously and I am as a guest in a game where the main player did not obtain them

This is exactly what I’m getting as well with Jack.

and it’s not a new bug !!!

I was getting this when I was playing coop the host had completed a game all but 1 upgrade not done for Jack, Flash and Pulse were invisible like yours is and you could not, even if you knew the button to use them, if you actually tried to use them it didn’t work, I also was finding components some were in places where they normally are some was not there at all

(Playing on Xbox) I tried a few different things to see why it was happening as the play-through was saved in Save file 3 (with the upgraded Jack)

Nothing I tried was working.

I went on to me being the host as I recently completely the campaign and upgraded Jack fully in Save file 1 and it worked no issues created a save file in 2 (I started on Act 1 Chapter 3 just to see if it was working)

When the game starts it says you have already collected 16/16 components when you pause the game (for act 1) thats the clue the Jacks progression has worked aswell.

This is whats worked for me. Someone else told me you should be given the option to select the save file you want the progression to come from (this didn’t show for me maybe it doesn’t do it on xbox unsure)

I have now started an Inconceivable run Solo in save file 2 and Insane run coop save file 3 and they all have fully upgraded Jack. I was thinking maybe it literally takes the progression from the last save file you played. It explains why when my coop player was the host it didn’t work.

I believe everything is based off the Host so his Jack skin will be on the Jack so if he hasn’t got a play through with him upgraded but you have I don’t think it would work

That’s what I was thinking as well. If you don’t have a savefile with all the components collected, it results in a broken jack transfer.

I don’t understand what you are saying about save files … are you talking about in-game save games?
If that’s right, then, as a guest in a game, fully recovering Jack’s abilities is impossible if the host doesn’t have them, right ?

Yeah and for me it was my first saved game (slot 1)

But for my coop player his first saved game was (slot 3) and we started a new game on slot 1 and it didnt transfer the Jack progression which is why i think it dependant on your saved games.

@Fabjo06. Yes the ingame saved games. If your playing on xbox you press Campaign, New Game +, there will see Save 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ?

For me my fully upgraded Jack is on my Save 1 play through. So when i started a new game using Save 2 it took my progression from Save 1 / previous game / Original Campaign. Im at Act 2 with Save 2, when i started another new game i used Save 3 i am going to believe it took the progression from Save 1 but they both (Save 1 and 2) have fully upgraded Jacks.

Just to add I did try with my coop player as host doing a new game on Save 4 when the Jack was upgraded (apart from 1 upgrade) We started a game on Save 1 No Jack progression. We tried Save 4 With the thought it might take the progression from the previous game Save 3 (with the jack progression) but this didnt work. Also deleted Save 1 tried it again on Save 4 as Save 3 would be only save left (with jack progression) didnt work.

I think it literally has to be Save 1 for jack fully upgraded for it to work, i reckon thats what they mean by where you left off in the original campaign. Original being your first game maybe :face_with_monocle:

Is your friend by any chance a PC player? Or are you?

Both Xbox

After several tries, if you are as a guest and the host has no progress for the Jack’s abilities, this does not recover them (those acquired during a previous complete campaign) and also adds a bug that makes the flash and the scanner unusable as if they had not been acquired.
On the other hand, as a host, it did recover all the abilities (with a few moments when the active abilities no longer worked: a restart of the game was enough to find them)

Now I’m pissed off with the matriarch who is invulnerable: bullets have no effect on her weak spot until she thaws.

Cryo Cannon or shooting/blowing out the ice underneath her will also expose the weakspot once frozen.

Cryo is just more risky as you have to judge whether you can freeze the Matriarch before it charges you down due to limited range.

So you did manage a get a game with “your” jack progression instead? If so thats great. It does make higher difficulties more fun rather than live and get one shotted

yes as a host but I would have preferred as a guest

I know it, the problem is that there is no damage when I shoot her on her weak spot when she is frozen … as if there is still her protective skin because it looks like the bullets are ricocheting. The damage is done as soon as it is thawed.
I will try to make a video for a new topic because I am approaching 10 trials and it tires me.

In the end, I succeeded to kill her by combining flash and grenades

Or you BOTH play on Incon and hate life for a solid 20 hours.

That’s why this thread came up in the first place.

Well, i was not paying attention I thought it was a solo run.

Yeah i would have preferred to of not been the host too but it ls a whole different campaign experience with Jack fully upgraded from the beginning and we wanted to try it.
