Or, you know. They can add Beast. Seriously. It isn’t even lore at this point. It looks DUMB.
EPIC: Makes lore-friendly skins like Mechanic Baird and Thrashball Cole.
TC making COG Corpse, Zombie Dom:

Gears of War is already a joke, it’s been a joke ever since they added characters from another universe as part of a glorified ad campaign.
We shouldn’t have a Grandma from another dimension, or an androgynous cyborg from another dimension, we shouldn’t have literal walking corpses, but since we do, the least TC could do is let us use all our skins in PvE.
Tell me then, how do walking dead people, characters from other dimensions, and friggin pixelized weapons fit with your suspension of disbelief?
The guest characters are put in the appropriate teams. They’re in teams that they would actually join. Granted, the Terminators would just try to kill everyone. The Terminators are honestly the only characters I have a problem with. Sarah is fine. The way you describe her as a grandma makes it seem like old people can’t be playable characters, when we have PLAYABLE OLD DELTA, AND BERNIE IN PAST GAMES.
Two characters from opposing teams joining forces looks dumb in this game. Seriously, the Swarm team has no place being playable characters in A GAME MODE WHERE YOU FIGHT THE SWARM.
Unlike the DeeBees, having the Swarm or Locust in PvE WILL cause confusion. When rockets are flying everywhere, and Sires are sneaking around, the last thing that’s gonna help is having f*cking RAAM trying his best to keep his ooman allies alive. Especially when “Die, human!” is INGRAINED in their dialogue.
EPIC Games: also makes Thrashball Drone
The Locust aren’t actually swarm, they’re on the swarm team in versus for convenience. We already covered how being confused isn’t an issue in a game with no friendly fire. And Raam’s appearance is wildly distinct from the swarm critters.
Sarah isn’t a problem because she’s a Grandma, she’s a problem because she’s a glorified commercial from another dimension. Characters from other dimensions shouldn’t be in this game, walking corpses shouldn’t be in this game, and yet, here they are.
Also, I highly doubt Sarah would want to help the CoG.
They’re an authoritarian socialist regime that makes liberal use of robots and AI, which considers “human rights”
to be the punchline of a joke.
But they’d have a common enemy. Even if the Locust look different, my brain’s gonna tell me “oh sh * t, a Locust. Oh f * ck I forgot this guy’s on MY side.”
Also, Scions are Locust.
And Wardens are believed to be high ranking Locust that evolved like the others. Locust being on the swarm team makes perfect sense.
That doesn’t matter though, cause even if you shoot a team mate, you won’t hurt them.
Your argument is arbitrary and self-contradictory, if you really believe that player characters looking like npc enemies is a problem, then you should also be against having playable PvE Deebees.
Furthermore, I’m aware that scions used to be Locust, I’ve played most of the games, and read the comics.
But the scions you face in horde mode are much larger then their player skin. You could even let players use scion skins in Horde, and the difference would still be clear as day.
I don’t really have an issue with you disagreeing with me, even if I did it would be irrelevant, but still, if you’re going to argue against my position, you could at least be consistent in your reasoning.
Deebees are actually part of the COG. Locust are not.
Deebees can be corrupted, Locust don’t suddenly feel the need to switch sides.
Except DeeBees are in the COG. Not only that, they’re blue. You think it makes more sense for the Locust and Swarm to kill each other, than it is for them to kill the humans? Seriously, Locust will NEVER be playable in Horde.
LOL at Scion team killing.
What’s next? Let the Flood be playable in Firefight? Use zombies in The Mercenaries? Literally READ the Drone description, and it’s clear they can never be in Horde from not only a lore standpoint, but a gameplay one as well, since players expect them to be enemies.
That’s all lore nonsense though, we already covered how lore doesn’t matter in multiplayer, if it did, we wouldn’t have six characters that exist nowhere within the lore, in multiplayer.
@Jimmeeehhhhh
As for you, there are red dbs in horde mode, and I’m not talking about the corrupted ones.
Furthermore, there is already a game mode where the Locust and the Swarm kill each other, it’s called FFA.
It doesn’t matter if it makes sense or not, this is a video game, it doesn’t have to make sense.
When I say that I want playable Locust in horde mode, I mean playable LOCUST SKINS, you idiot. Obviously, it would be weird to play as actual npc units in horde, but that’s not what I’m asking for. Also, Jack can already do that, and players on my team don’t always realize that I’m controlling a critter and shoot at it, but they can’t hurt it while I’m controlling it, so it doesn’t matter.
Every problem that you claim (allowing Locust skins in horde mode), would create, is ALREADY THERE!
Only worse, because the critters that jack controls look EXACTLY like the other enemies.
And sure, 343 could add usable flood cosmetics to firefight, it wouldn’t harm anyone or anything. I even know a few players that would be immensely pleased by such news, I wouldn’t personally, but that’s irrelevant.
And don’t think I haven’t noticed that you keep dodging my point about the walking corpses that are playable in every game mode. I know you’re only ignoring that one aspect of my position, because it completely destroys half of your argument, and the other half can’t stand on its own.
I know there’s red DeeBees. That’s why I mentioned ours are blue. FFA has no teams whatsoever, so it’s fine to see everyone kill each other.
Horde is built on the basis of teams. Humans vs. Monsters. Should have had the DeeBees fight the Swarm like the Lambent did in 3. When you sh*t out the Locust into Heroes, why not just put COG soldiers in the enemy rotation? You’re throwing the concept of teams out the window. It makes infinitely more sense to add the Locust in the rotation. Then we can have more enemy variety.
Or create a Horde mirror (not Beast) where the Swarm and Locust have their own ultimates, and they’re going against COG and DeeBees. That way, they can be well worth the $5 price tag.
The zombies? I’m not ignoring them. It just seemed pointless to talk about them. They’re still based off characters that have died. It makes sense to keep them in the COG, since Zombie Dom still acts like Dom. It wouldn’t make any sense to have 2 Doms or Kims in different teams, would it? That being said, I wonder what they’d do with a certain character.
I’m not gonna lie, either. I HATED the zombies. I also hated when the DeeBees were in the Swarm.
Lore nonsense and also logic.
Throwing locusts on the blue side is just backwards and I’m not for it. I’d rather just have beast mode back and expanded on.
There is a strong lack of imagination and love for arbitrary rules in this thread.
I’m not gonna lie. When I was younger, I thought it’d be interesting to see a blue Theron with a COG symbol where the Locust insignia should be. Looking back on it, that sounds hilariously bad LOL.
Are dead bodies a part of the cog Ws? Does is make sense for a skeletal cadaver to be running around shooting things whilst spitting out cheesy one liners?
Your argument is as dead and lifeless as half my teammate’s skins were in GoW 4.
In games where team lines can be blurred in places I’d be for it.
I just don’t like it the idea for Gears.
I also hate the addition of non Gears characters (zombies, Halo and Terminator people get out)
Your argument also falls flat, those skeletal cadavers were actually members of the army they fight alongside. Never their enemy.
I understand the guest characters aren’t popular. If the Spartans and the movie characters were gone, that’d be fine, but they need replacements.
The skipped over Gears are sitting right there.
Valera, Barrick, Jace, Sofia… even Alex Brand.
