Any word on if we’re finally going to get playable Deebees and Locusts for PvE modes in Op3?
Cause we’re past due for this ■■■■.
Details drop tomorrow. We won’t know until then.
They’ve already said the DB won’t be PvE because of “Confusion.” Although I don’t get it, make em glow yellow or something, and there’s no friendly fire. They can’t be doing it for our immersion–in the past Octus said they don’t really care and that’s why we have Hivebuster Baird.
I think they just wanted a new “Character,” and skins to grind for without having the effort needed for a whole new character.
Ryan Cleven asked on his twitter a while ago if people wanted it in or if it would be confusing. Overwhelming response was that people wanted it in.
Ah okay, missed that myself, I just remember the answer we got back in December when they first dropped the DB.
It was on his personal twitter account so a lot of people wouldn’t have seen it.
Well obviously not. I need too though. Only following Xbox/GearsofWar/GearsViking (Although he’s gone now) and Octus.
I’d love for the shepard to be be playable. Variety never hurts!
Also, given that Baird summons a DR1 and Del trackers, the confusion thing doesn’t hold much water.
Tbh, I have confused Del’s and Baird’s Ultimate during DB waves. So I end up friendly fire and turns out it does no damage…
If friendly fire was a modifier, I’d see an issue.
It’s not, I assume you and most others realise the mistake quickly. Especially since the DR-1 complains about friendly fire.
Thank you! I’ve been saying this since Gears of War 4, if there’s no friendly fire, then players getting confused isn’t even a mild concern.
I see the issue in VS more than Horde and PvE with A Theron Disguised Marcus, since it’d make you think twice upon seeing them. I do it now when I play Swarm five games and then finally play as COG, I sometimes still think I’m on the Swarm and it confuses me.
But if you had a teammate that dressed like the enemy it’d be more confusing.
But in PvE I see no issue since there’s a clear outline and no damage.
Not to mention that enemy DeeBees are red. DeeBees are never red. It’s almost like they did this for a playable DeeBee to make it in.
And on top of that, Locust aren’t even a variant of enemy these days. TC must really think their player base is full of morons if they think we can’t tell the Locust and the Swarm apart.
Ok, but Locust and humans shouldn’t be in the same team.
Strong agree.
Locust were in the campaign with the sires and should be enemies in Horde mind you.
Regardless, DBs should be playable in Horde, not sure what a good ultimate would be though.
I disagree. Since Horde is not canon, I think we should be able to play as swarm. If it irritates people, just say Baird figures out how to permanently hijack one enemy for 50 waves or something. I’m mostly a PvE player so it pains me not to be able to use T-800 and now Armored Ronin Kantus whenever I am playing Gears.
Not only is it not lore friendly, it plainly looks stupid. Seriously. They should be mobs, working together with their descendants.
I have never said Gears was a joke before. I stuck through all the games. I’m not gonna stop playing. But if I see a Locust Drone be like “hello ooman I am fight with you,” I’m gonna cry. It’ll be a literal joke.
DeeBees being in Horde fits in with suspension of disbelief. This can be an experimental DeeBee that has certain weak points closed off to the Flock. Hell, I can see why the DeeBees malfunctioned. I don’t understand why they don’t attack the Swarm, though.
Right but Horde is not canon so it has no obligation to be lore friendly. TC should let me play as these locust/swarm in any mode I want.
