Dana confirms on Twitter that the Gnasher is broken

I had to give up the other day. So many people just sliding right at me and all my shots could muster was the infamous 86%.

I also had to adjust settings to compensate. Also my thumb sticks are busted at the moment so I know thats also not helping. Personally what I’ve noticed is some lag time on my shots. If run or swing my gun shots will often times land where it was or off to the side. Something really funky is happening.

The tuning itself is great and it has got a lot of positive feedback. I too enjoy the changes to game mechanics like the removal of bullet magnetism beyond close range, pellets always travelling straight forward, the simpler damage drop off on Lancer and slower slide speed (although the reduction didn’t need to be as drastic. Should’ve been something in between the previous slide speed and the current one imo).

The inconsistency is what people mostly complain about and it’s not an intended part of the tuning(obviously).
The game is much more versatile with the new tuning. TC just have to try and fix the inconsistency issue.

It begs the question…
Do TC even know their own code or was most of the work outsourced? I know fixing bugs can cause more bugs but the game is a year old. These things shouldn’t be an issue by now.
Both the lancer and gnasher feel off to me.

Because instead of using the same source code as gears 4 when the gameplay was perfect they altered it in order from what makes sense too me is too get people too buy the game like fifa do year in year out. It’s the same game but they change slightly how you play.

i’m finding it harder and harder to turn on the game because I probably wont have fun, and even if I do,
I might not next time because it’s always changing.

since this update everything with the shotgun has gone bad… even the hit markers on the players are bad, when I cannot hit a hip fire on point blanks says something…fix this game plz thank u

Feels like the operation 2. Lancer you never have enough in your clip to finish a guy off without reloading or pistol … An shotgun wont shoot instantly when you try an slide in to cover anymore

Do you just not play big AAA releases? This has been an issue with countless games, for more than the last decade. Ever play PlanetSide 2? Yeah try shooting a guy 40 times only for 6 or 7 shots to register. Battlefield 4? If the enemy went around a corner he was basically immortal because the game just could not tell if he was still out in the open or not.

Anyone know what he’s talking about regarding original XB1 players? I still have my launch console and am wondering about this.

My big problem with the Gnasher is gib range and being able to gauge how much damage you should be doing. Sometimes you can point blank someone and get the smaller hit marker dots like the game thinks it’s a longer range, lower damage shot, but sometimes you can fire shots or get shot by a guy firing at you from short-mid range and he gets a full pellet blast for huge damage with the larger hit marker dots.

Or the obscene 87% point blanks, but the other guy gets a 1 shot gib because he fired literally 0.0000000000000000000001 second after you so the extra 0.000000000000000000000001 pixels of distance he gets from lifting his foot forward puts him within gib range. I feel like there needs to be a buffer or something between instant kill gib, and high damage but not quite 1-shot range, something to make it more clearly obvious. This is a Gnasher problem in general though, not a G5 problem specifically. Maybe something like how CoD handles its shotguns, where any hit deals flat X amount of damage, multiplied by pellets hit plus range?
