From everything that I have gathered, the casuals seem to love the game while the more hardcore players are at least somewhat disappointed.
The thing is that many of those people who love the game will end up leaving really soon like they always do.
The hardcore community is what really matters to me. That is the opinion that I care about. It does nothing for me to hear that someone loves the game when they won’t even stick around for long.
The game is too casualized. There is no dynamic in the gameplay and it gets repetitive. I’m out here beating up on people, including pro players, but I must say that at level 75 I’m already bored of the game.
There is not really the game within the game of the previous titles. This is more like Call of Duty, just hop on and smash people. There is no real flair and outplaying in this game.
The damage really is between Gears 4 core and comp but it feels off to people due to the slower movement and new mechanics. Aim-assist or not, rebalancing or not, the game will still be casualized - that is just the design of it.
This is like a bike with training wheels. How do you drive that? Like everyone else. This is not the bmx bike we are used to, the bike you can ride your own way. This is too cookie-cutter for me to really enjoy.

Oh and it isn’t even about the movement being slower. UE had slow movement but a lot of skill.
The game just has too many safeguards. They catered too much, they betrayed us too much.

Yea, it’s like what was pointed out between Gears 3 and 4. When people complained about CORE damage in Gears 4, TC would be quick to point out that it’s lower than Gears 3 damage. They don’t mention that Gears 3 movement was much quicker and you could maneuver the OP damage better.
So, with Gears 5, the damage is down a bit from Gears 4, but the movement is even slower, so that negates the lower damage a bit, and makes it just as bad a situation as CORE in Gears 4 to an extent. The crazier Aim-assist just adds to the issue.
Breaker Mace also needs to either be toned down, or taken out of ranked. It’s too OP, especially with how much extra health the player gets. The casualization of the game is crazy overall. I’d like to see more damage drop-off on the Gnasher and lower effective damage on rifles in the future, dunno if TC is willing to do it though.

Yes, absolutely. Finally someone that understands that everything is related. Gears 5 has no dynamic in my opinion.
The game feels so restricted.

Also the “Breaker” isn’t breaking anything. It IS broken. It’s as much an instant kill as the chainsaw that wanted to be a vacuum cleaner when it grew up but its parents said “no you’re going to be a gun attachment.”

Spot on dude … im bored already as the maps aren’t even that good and the lag and disconnecting is getting old real quick … tc talk about record numbers but without gamepass and ninja this game would be dead in 3 months!
