Unfortunately the people that can make the changes are experts in making the wrong decisions on a daily basis.

It should never have been touched, and it’s disgusting that it has. Oh how I miss the days where there was no damn ranking system, just your own personal level, and the game was just enjoyable to play.

So true. This has been the case with Gears forever. People love to chase each other down and forget there’s an objective, then become confused when they lose. They got 50+ kills, but still lost? I was always the player that played the OBJ, and you get just as many kills trying to capture the hill as you would running around.

I never understood that. If you stay in the area of the hill your gonna get more kills

A REVIVE gives you more points then a cap. Absolutely ridiculous

I think this is an excellent idea - didn’t you comment this in a little more detail on another thread? Can’t recall if it was you, but if it was, you should re-post it here as well…

Everyone thinking this way and camping etc or taking sniper in cover waiting until sniper bullets finish in KOTH one …
But it is not to way to play KOTH

OR TDM instead of 15 counting back each team must be 50 TDM Ranked
So who are playing KOTH that way can jump back to TDM

So about caps and capping the ring in KOTH. The points have been lowered because of cap abuses. For example when someone triple caps. Cap the ring, then let it be broken and cap it again. I do understand why the points had to be lowered.

However, there are other ways to approach this. Because it’s the main objective to hold a ring for a certain amount of time. How about changing the cap to time.
So if I get the 30 points + x amount of time it stays capped. Also, the players will be able to see how much time each player has contributed to the total time of the cap. So instead of having 30 caps, the players, will see how much of actual cap time they contributed with.

Also if there’s more than one player capping they will receive that time.

Another thing with capping. If one player almost caps the whole ring but gets sniped and a teammate runs in to cap the last part. I do think the one that died should get the cap to assist point. " splitting up the cap duration to points" maybe in 4 sections and 30 for a full cap.

Edit.
There should also be an invisible extended area around the ring. Where you get extra points for defending or attacking kills/assists.

So when a player breaks the ring the player can get bonus point if there’s 4 defending players unaware. Or breaking the ring and the team successfully cap it after.

No. It was lowered to keep it align with the skill point system.

They pay very little attention to caps and breaks, in an objective game mode, when looking at results for rank purposes.

I’m with playing KOTH honestly. They are making this game worse after each thing they do. I don’t know how long I can stay on this game !

Agree what you are saying about to be close ring and get more points than who is other side of the map…

In my opinion, from playing probably the most KOTH matches out of anyone in the community throughout franchise history, I’ll say that it most definitely needed to be changed.

30/10 is too low though.

Too many people were point hungry for 300/100 but they too so freaking long to do anything about it that they could have easily just left it alone as people were so used to it.

I’m glad they changed it personally to deliver a message but they are going to have to increase the points again.

150/100 would be fine or even 200/100. To me, breaks were fine at 100 and I always loved having a teammate going in there to break it for me since I’m lancering like crazy.

i don’t like being the one to break since without sounding egotistical, I just can’t be the one to sacrifice myself and have the team lose my presence. They break and I take responsibility for their lives by lancering hard for them.

My only problem was those who sacrificed their lives too much to break and cap for the sake of getting points.

30/10 is utterly ridiculous.

For me, nothing that they do with the scoreboard will make me change my play style, as I’m simply playing to win.

Nobody in my opinion should be playing any differently other than being aware to not throw their lives like dummies - which is the point of this.

Bring it up to 200/100 and people will slightly understand what you were trying to tell them.

So far, I haven’t seen a single person play any differently. It may just be some type of placebo effect or something.
