Clayton-ReGeared OP4 (Adv. Horde Tips/Guide) by Hu1k Daddy

Excellent post man, really helpful.
Personally I use:
Serrated Edge
Reflect Shredder
Heavy Charger
Mulcher Mastery
Concussive Explosives

It’s like a mixture of both final builds mentioned and I feel like it works quite good, you can enjoy the mulching but also deal some damage with the torque bow in case you lose you Mulcher and keep stun for the bosses, but I miss Heavy Shell. As EvilJoshy mentioned Heavy Capacity doesn’t feel that necessary once the ammo regent is maxed.

To mess a bit with the Mulcher vs Tri-shot debate the OP 4 patch notes mention that the Tri-shot now deals 250 damage per hit (down from 300 on previous OPs) and the Mulcher deals 150 damage per hit (up from 120) so with a level 4 Mulcher Mastery you already do more damage with the Mulcher ( 270 per hit). The Tri-shot fires 3 shots of course but the Mulcher fires a lot faster and takes longer to heat up.
What the Tri-shot have on it’s side is that you can kill downed enemies afar with the execution mutator on while the Mulcher can’t ( I feel like sometimes it does).

Please correct me if I’m wrong and thanks a lot for the tips Hu1k_Daddy.

Great guide HD (as always :sunglasses:).

I’ve tried out the Mulcher build but so far I’m not a fan, even with the damage buff it doesn’t seem noticeably stronger than the tri-shot and I found myself missing the benefits of a tri-shot.

Haven’t given up on it completely (cards still need levelling up) but going down the stun build route seems like a strong possibility at the moment.

Team resist is a must for me, makes guardian and sentinel waves a breeze especially combined with blast shield.

If you’re able to proc your ultimate at least twice you’ll be able to shred anything and give your teammates immunity for that time period pretty much.

I also know a “trick” that combos really well with ultimate battery and bait armor.

Hey stinger,

True the trishot can take down DBNO from any range. So that does help. The Mulcher can as well but it has a range limit to 10-15 meters. If past this range then no.

But again it all comes down to playstyle in the end. If you feel the trishot works better for you then by all means use that.

My guides have always been something that help others find some good combo’s of cards or to shed some light on things that maybe was not shared or known. I have always felt that the door line from the matrix was always true.

Hey I’m a huge Clayton fan, I’ve found him to be extremely versatile on Escape solo runs.

I just completed a solo master run using Clayton on Last Stand. Not easy but doable.

A tactic I’ve found to get past large groups of enemies is to equip Clayton’s stun explosions card, then run straight at a large group and toss a frag grenade in your path as you activate Clayton’s ultimate. They all die or get stunned, you are immune. allowing you to keep running.

I think one thing that is highly overlooked is his team defensive buffs when paired with the other right characters. When you play the right team in escape you can basically make some characters invulnerable to certain attacks. His team defense cards can make Cole immune to explosive or heavy weapon damage, same as Lizzie from behind with all the right cards. Lahni could basically get immune too. It’s obiviously a very suuportive role to play that means you yourself don’t end up smashing heaps of grubs but it can be pretty helpful if your team is having a hard time with a certain Hive.

Thanks for confirming the Mulcher range, that’s good to know. I prefer the Mulcher actually, I was just commenting that the Tri-shot got that advantage.

Glad I found your posts man I need these tips :ok_hand:t2:

Hey man,

I appreciate that. These are very time consuming to do so it’s always nice to see when someone appreciates these.

That Mulcher Build misses the Bait-Armor you can’t walk around with a Mulcher killing up close without the Bait Armor Clayton can tank almost everything with Maxed Cards/Perks while shooting the Mulcher and using Bait-Armor.
Heavy Shell is overrated it is fun to use WHEN/IF it works but most of the times Boom and Dropshot Scions will miss while you’re in Refelctive Shell so it’s not worth picking IMO If you really want to use Heavy Shell i recommend you leave out Heavy Charger his Ultimate comes back super fast even without using that Card, other then that a good Guide as always. :+1:
