Oh the humanity! I mean, all those ill-gotten coins. How much is it anyway? 1000 at most? Hmmm… maybe this is the stealth reason why TC nerfed Escape rewards without explaining anything. They knew about this for awhile and wanted to make sure at least not reward the cheaters much. At the same time the real top players gotta feel disrespected by all this though.
You might be on to something here
So maybe you’re right and that means TC would’ve known about the glitch, not fix it, hope no one would find out about it and sweep it under the rug. But now that the cats outta the bag. Knee jerk reaction and nerf all of Clayton’s cards making him useless.
That’s exactly what’s going to happen.
Just to think, I’ve hosted all my The Split matches and ran Clayton 98% of the time. I’m guessing I’ve never ran into this solely due to me waiting to fill the lobby, giving the possible exploit no fuel.
The disdain for these types of players making gaming a terrible experience.
And just to add, I do feel a bit weird for feeling like this over a video game and I probably shouldn’t feel annoyed, but fact is I am. Escape players who play on the hardest difficulties (and not just the usual grinders who do Surge on Insane) put alot of effort into become good and time into grinding cards. It may sound like there’s a hint of elitism in what I’m saying, but Escape on master difficulty really is the peak of PVE in terms of a challenge. I’ve played with many players in the last year in Escape. I think it’s fair to say the majority are not that great as a proportion of the PVE community but there are some very good ones out there and I have a great deal of respect for the good ones, especially those who I’ve learned things from. I’ve not always been a good Escape player and I only started getting into it and making the effort to play and improve toward the end of Operation 2. I’m not an amazing Escape player, but I like to think I’m a good one and I’ve put the time and effort into improving my game. And to see exploits to this extent is really annoying. I mean, total invincibility to everything? Cole’s melee invincibility was pushing it, but this is obscene.
I vow never to use this cheat. Not even to help a friend to master this. I’ll happily help them through normal play, even if it means putting in the same number of hours it took me to do it the legit way, but not like this.
It’s really like any other glitch, exploit, etc that TC produces. People seem to gravitate toward them, and then use them until nerfed.
With the exception of leaderboards, which are whack anyhow till the tag duplication glitch is fixed, it’s just people doing what they always do.
I respect people’s decision to use or not use them.
It all ends at some point anyhow.
For the record, never heard of this one till today. No doubt it will explode in popularity this weekend though.
If they fix the glitch and nothing else, that will be fine. But sadly, that likely won’t be the case.
I get that people will feel the temptation to use this exploit for harder Hives. Especially if they’re finding it hard, and I get that the current one is a really tough one.
I also get that exploits are a thing. There are a number of unintentional things in the game which players use for advantage. I’ve used some myself.
My issue is the extent of this exploit - that it is basically a form of God-mode.
Cole’s melee invulnerability was pushing it for me and I want this to be nerfed. But at least it’s limited to melee attacks. Cole isn’t invincible and can still die from gunfire, venom and explosives.
This Clayton one is too far for me. If people want to do it then that’s up to them, but I personally won’t have anything to do with this. Not even to help friends to do it. Like I said, I’ll happily help friends to complete Escape on master, but not using this exploit.
It will no doubt be nerfed at some point, and rightly so. I just hope TC don’t ruin Clayton in the process - he’s a fun character to use.
What is the solution without nerfing hard ? Remove the uncle clay card? Replace it with something else like Lancer damage?
Melee Brawl sure is tough can you help me out?
Maybe just add a global cap on damage resistance stats for all characters - let’s say 95%, and regardless of what cards people try to stack it will never excede 95%. That makes the most sense to me.
I’d be down if they changed it to Retro Damage and lower Recoil.
Yep. Just wait till the next weekly escape hive releases. Some players are going to exploit this glitch and get ridiculous scores, subsequently hogging the top positions in the leaderboards.
This should be fixed before the next hive. Most likely because TC is fast at removing exploits even if it is by extreme measures. Plus they have like three weeks!!!
I do wonder if this works in Horde… imagine having 3-5 Claytons on Master Horde / Frenzy.
Why shouldn’t it work?
I’m guessing its being tested out, about 6hrs ago, I joined at wave 3 in a Frenzy lobby and there were 2 Claytons. At wave 5, another one joined. They were all squaded up. I’ve seen two of the same characters in horde before but never 3
Can you imagine with 5 Claytons in horde? Damn.
The downside to this has begun. I use Clayton alot but now im being kicked from lobbies. I don’t use this glitch because hes useful without it. Any way had a lobby for the split as Clayton and have been called a cheat or “such a loser can’t make 1% with skill” even though uncle clay is not in my build lol. Seems the puritans were out in force today lol
