I’m liking this universal love for Classic

Universal? Really?

Look man. Let me do my thing

Yes. The CDC says Coronavirus was the result of Horde 4.0. For every nerd who came up with a bunch of convoluted rules in their custom lobby, 1 person contracted coronavirus. Almost killed us all.

The vaccine is a strong dose of classic horde.

It will go the same way as single life playlists.

Of course, how could I be so ignorant.

Though I was not one of those who demanded much in lobbies, I wouldn’t tend to host either.

Being slightly more serious, I think the mode needs some further tweaks, because right now it doesn’t really have much of an interest factor.

Camping in one spot for the entire game with THESE enemies?

Rejects? Leeches?

Nah, this aint classic horde. Classic had Locust.

I found it got boring quite quickly. Having to hide for the last 4 waves. This was on advanced too. There’s a reason horde has changed and evolved over the years… I get the nostalgia feeling of classic horde but it could be simulated in a private lobby by using no cards and setting particular modifiers.

Modern horde is boring because fortifications dicatate you sit in one spot on the map. Add on everyone’s funky rules and no one actually gets to play. Its goes from a fun game to a chore like going to work or playing one of Destinys garbage raids or strikes or whatever that abomination of computer code calls them.

Just look at all the threads around here complaining about how other people play. Horde has become a dictatorship of mouthbreathers.

Erm, every game of classic I’ve played has ended up with everyone stuck in one place on the map…

With the modern horde, it requires strategy and planning if played correctly. You need to think about the setup of classes and how balanced it will be. I personally can’t stand 50 waves, it’s boring and repetitive.

I don’t play with randoms as I have made like minded, skilled friends who can understand the modern horde set up. Not stuck with the mindset of gears 2 players and brainless randoms who haven’t got the capacity to understand.

Not true, Ive played a handful of matches now and the last one I won, me and a group of randoms were spread out, 4 people working on drones, while 1 guy distracted the boss by running around the map luring him all over til we could focus in on him. Simple and thrilling.

I’ll give you that theres a level of strategy in modern missing from classic. I am not opposed to certain passive skills and abilities, or the “counter-strike esque” weapon system of Arcade or something along those lines, but what I am 100% wholeheartedly against is fortifications, turrets, and powers that funnel everyones gameplay into either A) one physical location on the map or B) one repetitive role or weapon throughout. I despise engineers and a few key roles that supposedly have to be played exactly according to the mouthbreather handbook.

I hope TC can make horde 5.0 accessible and strategic simultaneously, but theyre going to have to do away with any abilities and fortifications that trump the original classic gameplay. Winning should rely on movement and shooting first, with abilities, cards, upgrades, passives, and all that convoluted stuff a distant second.

If you cant win by playing with randoms, you’ve got a flawed game, not a flawed playerbase.
