Can you beat Horde without JD?

Alright, fine. I meant no offense. Just seemed like a general statement that didn’t seem right as I get the impression most of the forum people have a general idea of teamwork in Horde.

Never played with a bad forum player…honest truth…

Yup that’s a said truth that should never happen

I know what you mean. They could have definitely been clearer on a lot of things, but this should help:

Can someone explain stim?

Precisely my point.

One can only wonder why TC would willingly over-complicate a simple, effective and rather enjoyable Horde.

Try simulating the simple old style by lowering the difficulty and banning any use of cards or Ultimates. Not ideal, I know, but times have changed.

Maybe they’ll introduce a ‘Classic’ Horde variant some time. Could be cool.

That’s just the state of things right now. I would simply just play with others who don’t have interest in GL spamming, if it’s an option. It gets around the issues of people hating that you don’t play 100% their way. I’ve had it that I was kicked in Escape because I refused to charge straight into four Grenadiers and a Scion to get to a supply room to lock it and wait for venom there, when there was no venom coverage on those enemies. So apparently refusing to commit a suicidal move to follow a strategy that hardly ever worked well, because the others left enemies in my way that delayed me, makes me a bad player.

I even had an engineer out of all people complain I was not putting GLs on every single spot of my locker when I was not spamming them, back when I still bothered to play as JD in the first place. When we then failed because the team sucked so badly, well, I wouldn’t have wanted to carry those guys through a match anyway.

People are just too concerned with how others play. It shouldn’t matter how someone plays in a match as long as it doesn’t risk causing a failure through stupidity, recklessness or selfishness, within whatever limits the host clearly mentions are there. If I’m not told of a strategy to follow at the beginning of a match how would I be supposed to know the plan was to run into a supply room, lock it and then wait to kill the enemies from there?

Another Marcus bossing it on my team today!

I was able to charge up my Ultimate really fast and got an awful lot of skewering done with Mac’s Retro. Lots of Boltok for that big close quarters damage too.
Mac is noticably improved with the updated quicker Barrier cooldown, and increased duration.

Yeah i’ve always thought Mac was great and had potential even before be got improvements in OP 3. A lot of people just want to gravitate towards the easy stuff such as JD though and don’t see the value in other characters. I used to pay with this guy who would only do Master and play only the super meta stuff, he then told me “what does Mac bring to the table? What are you gonna kill the with the boltok?”. That pissed me off and I never play with that guy anymore but I always thought Mac has been good. It’s people like that I don’t like forcing you to use certain characters and not seeing value in stuff that isn’t super meta. With that being said I still think JD is way too strong for how easy he is to use due to the insane damage potential with bleed and ease of use.

Also on another note I always though Marcus was good people just for whatever reason don’t like to give everybody a chance and want to only gravitate towards the super OP stuff. Marcus is decent, JD is in his own tier atm though and will be until changed.

I’m fine if people use JD but not with the bleed on. With the bleed the damage is just way to much and doesn’t take much skill to do. Like if you want to play JD without bleed I think that’s completely fine! I however don’t kick people in my games that use JD with bleed I just don’t support that cause it makes the game way too easy… Also don’t listen to all those dumb people who force you to do all that suicidal stuff with the venom. People should instead just worry about themselves agreed!

I find it easier to keep his ultimate going on Master. More damage to be done to drop the enemies. More hits more time. Plus when Last Ditch kicks in his damage per hit goes way up and that helps increase the time significantly. I run the claw and retro. Just alternate between those 2. Marcus is a beast of a character. And when u have a good Fahz next to u, he will tear up too.

That wasn’t actually what I said. I was slightly behind the team because of there being enemies they ignored I had to clear out before moving on, but by then I was unable to rejoin them as I was blocked by a Buzzkill Scion and Grenadiers, but they weren’t in venom so I couldn’t kill them. Meanwhile the other two went down because they charged ahead and didn’t close the supply room door behind them and let Leeches and Rejects inside. Then I get flak and kicked because I cleared our backs and refused to try running past a Scion and four Grenadiers with no venom coverage of the area they were in yet, and called a bad player because I’m not stupid. Lahni isn’t invincible. Needless to say I’m not playing with that person again. I could have handled the Grenadiers and Scion myself but no, they just had to be a d instead of being reasonable and listening to my explanations.

And I just don’t take JDs into the lobby, end of story. It might seem a bit harsh, but none of them have proven to have an attitude other than “Every kill is mine, just sit back and watch even if you’re good enough to handle yourself”.

Gotcha that’s up to you what you want to do. Will you ever allow JD in your lobbies if they balance him or will that not change how you see him? Also yeah lot’s of JD’s are like that “I’ll kill everything while you guys just watch”. The game is very boring like that. I may as well not even play at that point so I feel ya… unfortunate but that’s how it is

It depends on what they do. I haven’t had negative experiences with Keegans so entirely happy to let them in, but JD is a no go for me as it is now. I’d rather not play than have one.

I LOVE Marcus’s ULT with rifle feedback. Lot of fun. And since I love using rifles, he’s a good fit.

I also love using Torque Bo so working on unlocking Clayton when I play.

Other than that I was using Keegan but now I’ll probably wait until his ULT refills heavy ammo too.

Sarah was cool to play a few games with. Her ULT is fun but I’ve yet to level her up. Plus I LOVE having grenades and using the Boltok.

I used JD at launch and for a bit but haven’t used him in a while.

I’m thinking of trying sniper even though I hate the character.

Thats totally understandable. Yeah Keegan is completely fine. That’s the unfortunate state of JD and it’s been like that for a while now. It’s like a lot of the problem with JD is people get into a mindset that they are way better then everybody else and that’s not a good thing. Doesn’t help either that his damage is ten fold

Fahz can be good fun if you’re capable of landing consistent headshots, though you may need to level his skills up a bit to be effective if you have More Health enabled or for higher difficulties in general. He won’t be the same killing monster as the Gears 4 Sniper was but he can definitely do some work.
