I know it’s been awhile, but I swear that in Gears 4 if you did certain things to increase your damage %, you saw those % real-time. For example, if you got consecutive shots with the Sniper class, you’d see the buff as it increased your damage, in real-time. Or if you were a Heavy using a heavy weapon and were using the damage buff card for that, etc.
In Gears 5, you see the % increase from cards or perks, but not any of the new level 18/19 cards that buff the overall % damage increase.
I think it’d be nice if we could see the increases from the new cards in real-time. For example, you have +60% damage with the Demolition class GL, but you kill 2 enemies with a boom shot, so now your actual damage % with the GL is +140% for the next 15 seconds, due to the level 19 ballistic damage buff card you also have equipped.
“Knowing” when these card’s damage buff was active would also be helpful to players not wanting to waste ammo guessing, and it would also be helpful to noobs to teach them “when” a particular buff activates.
Just a thought? I’m assuming the programming is possible since it was there in Gears 4.
