It looked to me that there were fewer lobbies on Escape over the weekend asking to do the Clayton cheat, so I suspect some people DID believe TC.
I know of some people on my friends list who still haven’t mastered a number of Escape Hives, and I’d have thought they’d be rushing to do this using the Clayton glitch. I know they read the updated patch notes so they would have thought (at least initially) that it’s been disabled.
Maybe that was always TC’s plan? They always knew that such an exploit couldn’t be fixed without a TU or significant work behind the scenes so just outright lied. I mean, “suggestability” is a real psychological concept, and it seems TC used this to mislead people and to divert them away from this exploit/cheat amd it seems to have had some success.
For those not familiar with it, “suggestability” is basically where we are influenced by external suggestions. This can occur in a number of broad ways. We listen to certain people and are more susceptible to suggestion than others. For example we may be more susceptible to suggestion if it was a person in a position of authority (e.g.: a doctor or a police officer) or certain people jn our lives we may trust.
