Correct… they would make more money creating a good GOW game and people will definetely buy their cosmetics . its a no brainer.
Yes man… at the developer level they are the "TRUE TOP GUNS " in creating games.

It’s all reflected in demand. Suppliers who demand more than what people are willing to pay, will receive no demand. It’s market equilibrium. It occurs naturally. You can charge me $80 for a loaf of bread all day, but it’ll just sit there and mold on your shelf. G5’s initial public offering is over. No use crying about it. If we’re going to make our tears count, we need to cry about greedy MTX. Demand has fallen for G5, no doubt. I’ve made up my mind to stop playing. It’s too little too late from TC. But this loss of confidence will be reflected in G6. Just like the gain in confidence and satisfaction will reflect in Witcher 4.
They can. I’ve complained about bullet magnetism, trash skins for high coin, iron tokens, crazy ping matchmaking, etc., stuff TC will do something about. But no amount of complaining will make them stop their Black Friday deal. What are we going to do about it? Return the game? It’s useless.
If it doesnt get fixed, return to 4 or 3 … I mean those games are super fun.
Alloot of us wish we could… at least its on game pass, it didn’t cost as much. but it wasn’t free.
I’m back on 4 myself. I still have 5k iron, but they can keep it. I’m done with 5. They broke my heart.
Exactly. This was also the case recently with Fallout 76. A lot of people rushed in Day 1 and got screwed over by the game, and screwed again when it dropped by 40-50% I believe. In short, be patient, wait a month for reviews to roll in, then decide. First week reviews will usually be positive to an extent, but as the month goes on, more problems will be found.
It’s Black Friday, which is quite literally known entirely for it’s sales. No offense, but get over yourself.
Early adopters pay more than people who wait until later. News at 11.
Lol… Now TC gets blamed for Black Friday…
Heh. Philadelphia gets let off the hook!
the effects of creating a crap game LOL
I hate to say it but I started doing this with the Assassins Creed franchise (my favorite non Gears franchise) and it’s really paid off for me. They had some really sketchy releases, particularly AC: Unity, which was a broken, unplayable mess when it released. Like players falling through the floor, game crashes, literally unable to advance in the story, stuff like that. Sooo a lot of people hated that game. Me though, I bought it like two months after release after everything had been fixed and I found my purchase to be quite enjoyable and it wasn’t stained with the absolutely horrendous first impression that others had. I can’t imagine myself not getting a Gears game on release date but…after 5, my radar is up.
I bought two copies (one for me and my wife) of the early access Ultimate Edition so we could play co op and beat the story before getting spoiled by the internet of the events that transpire in the campaign. But then ended up taking about two weeks to beat it because the campaign was bugged to hell, lost a few of our save points, and the servers were atrocious so we kept disconnecting.
Ended up spending over $160 for those two copies just to have all those issues with the campaign mode of all things.
However, this is on me. I can’t blame a bad game going down in price. It’s a common practice of the gaming industry as a whole now. A not so well received game usually ends up going down in price a few months after being released especially around the holiday season. This is nothing new.
Just learn from it. I know I have. If I get spoiled of major events in the Gears 6 story then so be it because I’m not buying it day 1 (especially not early access) after this whole mess. TC hasn’t done anything to convince me that won’t be a bug filled anti-consumer game too.
Don’t repeat the same mistake. Do not pre-order and wait for the price to drop. It’s simple.
or, you know, just release games when they’re ■■■■■■■ done, tested and polished.
instead of acting like everything is super ok as the entire internet tells you that your game is poorly made, maybe issue an apology.
it craps out on +3000€ PCs because it doesn’t get along with 10 series Nvidia cards,
honestly, if they had launched a solid game it wouldn’t be 50% off just 2 months after release.
oh and Ubi’s Assassin’s Creed Unity fiasco should have been a warning to developers and publishers alike, but it seems that some people are just THICK HEADED…i mean, come on… wasn’t Gears 4 enough of a mess on launch? why repeat this crap?
That’s what I always do. Except with gears games and From Software games. These are the only time I go full ■■■■■■. I wish I had another game that I enjoyed as much as Gears. So I could go in for it as much. But all other games aren’t adrenaline pumping I guess.
I tend to buy games on sale play it and trade it at game stop. The only time I buy a game digital is when I know I’m going to play it allot. Most games are not lasting to long. So I get new games for the one’s I buy in the sale. Don’t understand the hate for Gamestop. Maybe if you buy new games from the store. But if you trade your games you get pre orders. I played so many games only spending 70 $ Sekiro, darksiders 3 ,borderlands 3, division 2, rage2, control, modern warfare, deathstrandin, metro exedus. And I have doom and last of us2 waitin. I don’t understand why the hate. Its like an subscription.
Whats unacceptable is studios like tc who are suppose to be AAA release betas for 60+dollars and have everyone who paid for it basically beta test there game because there to lazy.
Then have the balls to add a store with the most cringe worthy items I have ever seen and after multiple updates still haven’t fixed all the issues and bugs.
So of course the price is going to drop dramatically, they need to make as much money as possible before it’s to late.
Also,no brand new game drops that much on black Friday unless it seriously tanked and are desperate to get people on there game.
In Amazon and certain department stores the game is already available at less than half the price.
Anyway, there has been so much disappointment with Gears 5 that I’ll wait when I’m at 5-10 bucks to buy it.
I estimate that will be 6 months or sooner.
I don’t mean to be dismissive but I’m not certain TC control the sales runs.
Sales happen. While it’s a bummer that many of us paid full price, it’s the cost of buying a game upon release. It’s not exactly a secret that if you want to pay less than full price, you wait for a sale - which we could have anticipated given the season.
By waiting several months to buy you also generally avoid a lot of the launch issues - which in this case are numerous, significant, and taking longer than they should to get ironed out - but the point remains.
My first reaction to the extreme sales we’re seeing isnt anger, it’s the realization that the game is almost certainly in as much trouble as the more critical players say. It’s a move being made because the title isn’t worth the full price tag, and if you and I waited months to buy it, we would have known that.
Borderlands 3 is having a 33% Black Friday sale, the exact same as Gears 5. It’s a sale, people are looking way too much into this. It’s the biggest sale “event” of the year…
How long did it take for Gears 4 to get that kind of discount?
I remember a year later I still saw it at 40-50 dollars.
Borderlands is trash ,right with gears 5. So I’m not surprised. I think you’re buying into this black Friday crap a little to much. They want you to think you’re getting a good deal.
