Before You Buy Johnny Read This - Coalition Needs To Be Accountable - TC Stop Ignoring The Forums & Reply

How do you know these things? There’s nothing about it on the store or in the video trailer.

@Nineteenth_Hour informed me at first, yes it’s a shame that it’s nowhere in the promotion.

But you might not know–the internet gives us a vast amount of information to find and research at any moment.

Kinda like if one buys lemonade from some driveway kid, one expects there is a very real chance this kid is a total moron and the lemonade has salt instead of sugar. Generally nobody is going to spit it in his face and demand their $10.00 back.

Yeah, $10.00 for a cup of salty lemonade… we paid it because it wasn’t about the lemonade. It was about the books this kid needs to learn how to read.

Now, if TC were to be advertising a Jonny and you received a Jenny or something completely and significantly not as described - yeah, there’d be some shade available for sure.

I bought Johnny and I don’t regret it one bit. It goes to an awesome cause and I’ve got the best looking variant of cog gear in the game.

So they removed Johnny from the store.
TC really didn’t care. Weak promotion. No context. No advertising in the game about the charity Gamers Outreach what so ever.
What a disgrace.

Did TC even read this thread?
No reply. Nothing. Classic TC.

Monetization and promotions are handled by Microsoft.

Come on. Stand with me against this trash practice.

No. While I was surprised that they removed the skin from the store so soon, they went to the effort in the first place with all proceeds going to charity. It’s not the first time they have supported Gamers Outreach and have done work with them before in the past. For all TC’s flaws, I don’t think you’re being at all fair with these sweeping statements like “TC really didn’t care” and “trash practice”. What practice is that? Creating and selling a skin for the benefit of a charity?

Besides, TC might decide to bring it back again in the near future.

I have a rule to put on ignore anybody who types that word into a forum post

LOL instead of giving us the relevant background info on the charity, and the gamer it’s based on, they instead decide to slap on a quick Shining reference “Iiiiiiiit’s JOHNNY!”" and call it day. They think gimmicks will get more sales. Apparently, they don’t respect us enough to give us the full scoop and let us make our decision based on that. We’re stupid, and we need memes, not info, apparently.

That’s not 100% true though is it? Initially there was no message, which is fair enough and TC should have done that from day 1. It’s not hard to write a little message saying that it’s for charity and who the charity is. But a short message was added later after a day or two. Also the information was available on Twitter. I get that this isn’t even close to being an acceptable way of communicating to fans, but to say that TC think you’re stupid is a bit much. TC dealt with the promotion and communication of this poorly, but that’s about the extent of it.

Thank you for your post. I agree.

I completely agree with you. They dropped the ball with communicating about this.

At the end of the day its for a good cause and TC should be thanking everyone who bought it,

Whoever made the page in the store didn’t care and no manager or boss cared to check. It’s merely an after thought. What idiot makes a store page and NOT say it is for charity or anything descriptive as to what the f it is?

Just give us your money. We will CONTINUE to ignore the discord, forums and twitter replies and talk about what we want and skirt questions in the Mixer streams. TC 101. - That’s how TC rolls.

You’re just making assumptions here. It may have been that a description was made but they forgot to put it up. Idiotic? Might be a bit harsh but sure, we can go with TC being absentminded and stupid. Fact is, they did promote it as a charity venture. Granted it had very limited promotion and they only added it to the in-game store later. I’ve mentioned it before in other posts, but as someone who has worked for charities and done plenty of fundraising for charities in the past, this was a rookie error and fundraising isn’t just about the money - there’s the information sharing and promotion of the charity too. Plus people like to know what their money is being used for. This isn’t in dispute.

It just sounds like you’re blowing things out of proportion here because TC aren’t in your good books. If you want to criticise TC for XY and Z, go for it. Thing is, TC can make themselves look incompetent without you having to clutch at straws in such a way. The good intention from TC in support of Gamers Ougtreach is there, but it was poorly promoted and communicated.

Yes. I’m cooking dinner right now but will be on in about an hour I guess. Am planning to run that new Escape Hive woth a couple of friends. Did you get the Barracks done in the end?

Not yet. Made it to the LZ but died. I’ll get it this week I’m sure. Barracks still has MM so it is still easy to find players.
