If they actually nerf the card now though, we at least know that we can’t speak about ANYTHING positive in the game on the forum. There’s actually a few things I’d love to talk about but there’s potential that TC would pick up on it and nerf it.
For Escape, there’s no need for Resupply Amplifier. Normally you can find a break in the fight to stop and everyone can gather around for the ammo. Horde is a different matter though and my team mates often find the extra range very useful. I typically drop it in the middle of a battle so for the duration I essentially have infinite ammo as it’s replenishing as fast as I shoot. As it’s during a fight my team mates will often be in their own positions - it’s not a great idea for us all to huddle up - especially if there’s enemies with explosive weapons about.
So what cards do you run on horde along with amplifier bro? One of my friends told me not to have speed loader card IF you are going to use Salvos only lol. I mean I love spamming boomshots/dropshots when I have speed loader card, hence why I don’t often use Salvos or gls (only use gls on boss/mini boss waves).
My personal preference for Horde is:
Shredder
Resupply Duration
Resupply Amplifier
Healing Module
Interogation or Speed Loader
The last card depends on whether there is a JD/Demolitions with me and whether we do the Spotter Support thing. I play the vast majority of my games with friends and we always use party chat so it’s very easy for us to coordinate this. If there’s no JD then I just stick on Speed Loader. Obviously it doesn’t affect Salvos but Salvos are only dropped on DeeBee waves, so we don’t know when we will get them. I typically don’t buy weapons until wave 21+ due to the cost - and prefer the Engineer to get everything set up first. Plus if JD is around then they usually get a GL.
Just to add, if we’re doing the Spotter Support thing, then I find that Keegan doesn’t need much in the way of weapons. I usually just carry a single Boomshot and Flashbangs. Even after grabbing a meatshield I usually don’t even get a chance to run back to my locker to get a Salvo to fire. By then most enemies are dead and a Boomshot is usually enough to finish helping the clean-up. I obviously keep a couple of Salvos and a Boom and a Drop for boss waves though.
Normally it’s the unexpected nerfs: Jack can’t heal through walls now, Infiltrator has 5m range (not saying its bad), Gunner has decreased damage on Mulcher etc. Who expected that outcome? Definitely not me.
But you are right about speaking positive. Like for example some people will open up the post and say “the best cards to run,” “this cards makes you tank,” and such and such… Then it gets a nerf, no fun for anyone.
Don’t worry, you can keep it to yourself… But it’s only matter of time when someone else figures it out the so called “good stuff” then they’ll end up posting it on this forum and I guarantee you it will get a nerf. Nothing fun stays in this game, only for short period of time.
I fully understand your playstyle now. As a solo player, I tend to avoid having interrogation card. I don’t know but it feels like a curse card for me. Every time I ask the host on the chat if he/she (playing as demolition) is running spotter support card, I end up getting the kick. I’m thinking what did I say wrong
. Vice versa, if I’m hosting the game and I ask the demolition if he/she has a spotter support card and they end up leaving my lobby. It only works when I’m playing in a team, otherwise, it’s a no, no for me.
Which still works, by the way, unlike some have claimed, and to me have been enjoyable but maybe it’s because I wasn’t spoiled by when the skill was at 120% extra damage. Didn’t seem like a justified nerf to me regardless, using it now, though. But that’s not the thread subject…
It does still shred Guardian and Sentinel shields like nobody’s business.
I really don’t think this would get nerfed but TC probably hated how players were clever and used Bait Armor or Enhanced Stim on Kait/Infiltrator to render themselves immune to damage with Jack’s heal beam(except against insta kill attacks), when that would also quickly get boring due to it being effectively risk free, and nerfed Jack’s heal beam so idk. The tradeoff still is that you drop a potentially better skill in favor of explosive resistance that is only good for Salvos? Eh… although thinking about this makes several combinations of skill cards come to mind on at least one other class when combined with the Healing Module for Resupply.
I personally think fun takes precedence over “challenge”. What’s the fun when an experience is really hard but also super tedious to complete such that you’d only want to play it once or twice? That’s basically what Master Horde in Op 1 and 2(and to some degree in Op 3) was. With stealth nerfs and all the people complaining how it isn’t a challenge now, what’s to stop the “balance” from going back to that?
Here’s a hint for “OP classes must be nerfed” : With a good team, Master difficulty will almost always be easy. Especially when playing Lift on Master with the daily challenge which allowed little or no forts built due to the excessive price, and the game spawns a Carrier and Wakaatu on wave 12 and your team still wipes the floor with them despite consisting of a tackle Brawler and a ranged Brawler, two Sluggers and well, I don’t remember the last one but it was not a significant boss killer either, while not having the option to use ults more than once or twice in the match, it just means your team was good at what they were doing. Terrible players will make an “OP” class look bad, except maybe Veteran because it’s literally an aimbot… albeit not very good at boss killing.
If only this was true. I’ve seen embarassing Vets in pubs.
I did say maybe. Some people will still manage to make the easiest possible class suck.
Whatever you have said there I hope this turns out to be true. Unfortunately, like so many times nerfs are inevitable regardless what class you like to play and it happens to unexpected classes to.
And in this case (with this post), most players will take advantage of this… And more and more post like this will show up until TC finally nerf it at one point because nothing stays fun.
I think what happens is something always evolves into the most common meta. When it does TC feels the need to change it for whatever reason.
There’s really nothing hidden from them per se.
They have all the data at their fingertips. If a small group is doing something “game breaking” whatever that means, it will show up in reports.
They know exactly how many bullets are fired and from which guns. How much damage is done per class. And which maps, times to completion, characters most used, etc.
Heck sometimes in the notes they fix things that no one I know had any idea about.
Yup. I remember a while ago TC mentioned that they use “heatmaps” and use this data when designing new maps. They track player movement in multiplayer maps to find out where players go, where the main fights are, how players fight for power weapons etc.
Even Bungie back in the Halo 3 days had heatmaps which were accessible by players by logging into Bungie’s site, and this was over 10 years ago.
TC will have the same, or better data gathering ability and will have all of this data, and more.
The only question is, how TC analyse that data because it’s all recorded, but there’s a massive amount of data so TC would probably need to hear something in the grapevine before they go digging and compiling specific data. For example while TC will know what proportion of Keegan players use Battle Hardened; and they may know how many Keegan players use Healing Module, the data may not immediately indicate the number of players using both cards. I guess it depends on their data parameters. That’s where they will have to dig a bit deeper to find out.
Doubt. The Clay-thing went undiscovered for almost 2-3 months. And there are still gamebreaking things that weren’t made public yet ( thank ■■■■■■■ god, can’t wait until that one a-hole ruins it for everyone again).
I might be wrong though, maybe they tolerate glitches as long as the majority of the playerbase is unaware of them and only take action when people scream for a fix.
I think that’s it. Too few people to chase exploits used by just a few. Clayton thingy became widespread and was then fixed.
Won’t lie though. I’m dying to know what you keep alluding to.
Riddle me this Batman…
Well I’m pretty sure it’s what everyone started talking about recently and even had YT videos now. So I’m guessing it’s going to be patched soon as well, unfortunately.
