Maybe it was intended?

Maybe play without him if you don’t like using them?

The good thing is that you don’t have to play against an OP Baird. And if you’d like, you don’t even have to play with an OP Baird. I’m sure glad the developers do not force us to equip cards or only play with one specific ā€œhero.ā€ They actually gave us several heroes and cards to choose from. For this, I am appreciative. Options allow a variety of players enjoy a variety of play styles.

Working as intended. If this bothers you don’t play when Baird is present. I play to win after putting three hours but others may differ.

Looks like it’s by design which I was surprised at

Is this a skill card?..

Just give him a bloody barrier card then if it’s by design. If this is by design then every other glitch in the game so far is intentional.

Yeah I assumed they would fix it, well more time to exploit it fellow horde lovers

Nice one mate. I’m glad they didn’t fix it. I knew it was meant to be.

Nothing really wrong with it guys, del can do the same thing with enough barriers, so I really don’t see an issue.

They are fine with a bit of restraint, putting them all over the map is fun once but leads to an over-long and boring game. If it’s by design then I think it needs some balancing at least. Make him useful but don’t encourage the playstyle that everyone has adopted since his release.

Just as you don’t build a wall of sentries at the front of your base, there’s no need for a map full of barriers. There’s 4 other players that want to shoot and have a bit of fun, it’s not fun if the only kills they get are kicking the last 3 downed enemies each round.

Agreed, but to each his own. Some people will play that way. some won’t. Likewise sometimes I play him across the map (Although I’m not sure how this makes an over-long game, usually an extremely fast run when I do this) with the barriers, other teams leave some for the team.

It’s coming down to people finding the type of match they want to have now imo

It makes runs longer when execution rules are enabled. If you play lower difficulties or specifically games without execution rules then you no doubt have a faster run.

I don’t think it’s much of a choice for most people, 95% of games have baird instead of del now, I’d say 95% of those games have a baird that puts barriers everywhere. People see it as a way to make the game easier so they do it. When in reality it makes the game dull and (when execution rules is on) a lot slower.

I’m not blaming those people for making that choice, I’m saying that things need to be better balanced. Swap bairds overclock with Dels, that’s one easy fix. Make baird even more expensive or limit the characters that can help him buy fortifications. Take away JDS ability to buy barriers and give it to a different character that people don’t tend to use. Risk vs reward you see?

My master games when I put them everywhere are much faster than normal games, I’m not sure what you are talking about. Maybe when everyone just sits in the base? I execute with the embar/DBNO explosions the whole time, and it is lightning fast. 1&1/2-2hr games instead of 2-3 hr games on master.

They’re doing it wrong, and people are not helpless victims. They have a choice, make a no baird lobby or join one.

That’s great for you, not my experience though. Baird sits in base with embar in his hand doing nothing until end of round.

My point exactly, people are doing it wrong, YOU may be the best baird ever and make games go super fast but just like I know I’m a good jack and make the team an abundance of extra money, most other players aren’t. Still doesn’t change the fact that it makes the game boring for everyone else.

Anyway I’ve said what I needed to say so good luck to you.

the word ā€˜design’ was used as its a design decision to retain this as gameplay and not change it.

Anything that can be used to make horde shorter can only be a good thing. Horde in gears 4 was just about bearable coming in at just under 2 hours for a non speed run. 3-4 hours now on master is absolute stupidity with poor XP and card returns Vs escape.

Things can still go wrong with execution rules on and an incompetent team not finishing the downs or taking out the bastions before a mulcher Scion walks through the barriers.

agreed except for one thing

Not ā€œONLYā€ a good thing. It can certainly diminish / impede the development of higher skill level.

You would think they would have patched the bleeding fences. Instead they patched the MG turrets dmg applying to all Baird’s weapons. Then the deebee weapons perk no longer works for heavy weapons. That was the only reason to run that perk. Baird doesn’t have any stim. You can only poke your head out for a split second on masters. I will miss that extra tri shot dmg. Does the precision repair work as intended now or is it still bugged?(If something dies to a fence or turret it procs so long as Baird is holding a precision weapon)
It’s like they designed him to try to get headshots with the embar but they didn’t think it through. Or they only tried it on beginner and thought it must work on masters. No stim, more deebee weapon dmg but doesn’t work on tri shots. How do they expect us to charge up the embar and kill a drone when it takes 2-3 head shots all while getting shot at?
