Bad reup system

Most dedicated players… aka the ones who only played master Horde or Escape with boost 24/7. What about the most dedicated PvP players? The only way they’d ever dream of hitting reup 50 is by playing 13 hours a day till Gears 6 released.

Hell even I play this game quite frequently again since OP4 (took a break when Guardian was removed) and was only sitting at reup XXI with 23 days in ranked and 22 in horde.

What’s your point? I only need to provide 1 counter example. He said even the most dedicated players are reup 30. That was incorrect. Reup 30 was obtainable as well 40 and most likely even 50 legit. He didn’t stipulate pvp.

And I will reiterate that I’m not defending the XP structure. It was the most ridiculous grind I have ever seen for a max level grind. I also think the new XP structure is dumb. It is way too easy. I could go from lvl 1 reup 0 to max during this 4xp weekend.

It used to be the ranking system where the PVP players could get weapon skins. And should have other ways to unlock rewards. Such as 100.000 kills in ranked PVP could grant the player a character skin.

The thing is that they are fixing the math genius curve. Without taking into consideration all the players that grinded the re-ups before the fix. I think it would have been fine if they at least added twice as many re-ups for these players. So they get their rewards and have something to grind for as well. Also they should get a specific reward for being at reup 50 before the change. Maybe a weapon skin set with grinding gears.

To show appreciation to the players that grind their game should be their top priority. No matter if they play PVP or PvE. There should be rewards that only can be obtained by the people that grind the game. Not time exclusives not paid. There should simply be there for the 10% of players that only play the game. And what and how they should be rewarded should be hard to get, not just play for a couple of hours on this specific weekend.

It’s good that they are doing something about the curve. But the re up grind is for the horde players and has always been. It’s like a ranking system for PvE and now everyone went up in rank…

I think they should’ve just lowered the xp required…this is like a rocket into that direction. They always go way too far with things. It’s a common thing with TC.

Basically went from 50 to 50, don’t feel bad for us, not all of us re-up 50s are whiny babies. A lot of my 50 friends are glad they made it more friendly for non-cheating gears of war players.

I don’t know a single re-up 50 player who did nearly half of it without cheating checkpoints and doing some other sketchy stuff, don’t feel bad for us… again a lot of us don’t like the cheating measures we go through to get these gears grinds done. And using game scripts to save 1000 hours is just sad because this game only has 100 hours of content give or take unless you enjoy pvp in games.

Most dedicated players are just re_up50.They play eager everyday(only play gears).Normal players are just around 30.
Most dedicated new players are around 20.
Lazy doesn’t notice they are lazy.
Coalition’s design is bad about gears5 from start.
I won’t come here anymore.

Before the update I was Re Up 43 level 70 playing almost nonstop Escape and Horde ‘cause skill card farming, playing regular horde or speedruns, most of the time just playing, killing, not using exploits or anything similar. The road wasn’t fun after all ‘cause absurd and nonsense idea of reach max re up ASAP, and reminded me once again why I don’t play any other grind game, is too time consuming.
If we’re possible I would get rid of all dumb idea of make all games too grindy and get back to roots of the game, play for fun, complete a few challenges to unlock stuffs. Damn, is more easy unlock all swords on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night than reach re up 50 on Gears 5 old XP system or venom skins without exp 4 or boost.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didnt TC add an additional 30 reups only after the game had already shipped? I’m 97.5% sure that’s what happened, meaning the reup grind was never meant for PvE only players 'till they had a knee jerk reaction to people hitting 20 so quickly. In all previous games and Gears 5 in its infancy, reaching max rank was easily achieved, even for PvP only players.

I understand the frustration some players have after they’ve spent a ton of hours ribbon farming, multiple controller boosting, and whatever other nonsense was being done. However, the horrendous XP grind they introduced was just another godawful decision made during a time when TC was pumping out too many of them. Like for example… locking campaign and front cover skins behind a grindy ■■■ ToD. I grinded my ■■■ off for those skins and eventually they were releases for everyone. Was I mad? F*ck no. I was excited for everyone to get them!

Honestly, I’m glad TC have changed their stance on too many godawful decisions they made early on. Who knows what state Gears 5 would be in if they hadn’t…

Yeah this update was a big mistake.
I said in another thread that the game is finished for me if i reach re up 50 and max out all cards.
With cards i think i am finished in 1-2 months.
And here is the point why i am angry now.
I was re up 32 and i decided a month ago to buy iron for boost, because i thought i will play it over 1 year more to reach re up 50.
And now i’m 50.
I paid money for nearly nothing now and over 1 year playtime was stolen to me.

All the rest i wanted to reach is done: mastered all horde maps, mastered all hives, lv 20 with all characters.
