Are the modifiers for “challenge” maps decided by RNG?

I did it this morning with @Hu1k_Daddy, we had to turn iron man off and after a couple stumbles we were able to get it done pretty easily, just required a bunch of health buffs and damage reflection cards you can, gotta make sure your guys are as beefy as these swarm heads. Also I noticed (I used team medic for the one we successfully finished) that using a sniper class has a lot of misses with the bobble heads being the way they are, seemed like you still had to hit where their regular head would be or else it would miss.

Played this one earlier on as Blademaster. I got my ■■■ handed to me in the first few waves but adjusted my approach and had an absolute blast lol. Honestly had some fun and it was challenging as hell especially playing a melee character and look forward to the next lol.

Well at least some people had fun with this daily, I couldn’t have enjoyed playing a uber sponge fest with even worse insta down enemies while their oversized heads don’t even seem to have the hitboxes upsized to account for the bigger heads.

Oh, and I despise “big heads” type modifiers. They look frikkin ridiculous and not even funny.

Im honestly hoping they incorporate these new modifiers into private horde matchs!! That would be so much fun an tbh the old style mods are getting a little stale now so freshening horde up would be great! I think horde lite needs to comeback too because 50 is just to much sometimes an frenzy is too quick! I loved 25 waves back in gears 4!!

See when I thought they were bringing modifiers to horde I thought it would be a custom set up type of deal, not a forced pairing, and yeah some of these challenges can play out super boring, or piss poor, not to mention not everyone has time to work through and figure out the daily map, I think they should have more balanced modifiers and a weekly map with 6 earnable extra gold cards, 2 for each successful playthrough alongside whatever other cards you get. But this daily for people without the time on their hands which is me a lot of the time too, just dont have time to mess with it. I hope they come out with a better one that you can enjoy!

Not Gold, Purple! Epics are harder to grind for because there are so many per Class and trying to get a specific one(s) you need is hard.

At only 1 or 2 Gold cards, you’re sure to make Gold well before all Purples for a Class.

Edit: UNLESS they finally introduce scrapping and Gold scrap at 25% coins, which would be 100 coins = 1 Purple dupe. Best of both worlds right there!

Yeah I was hopping there was gonna be a scrap system implemented this op but I guess all we can do is keep telling TC whatsgood, dumb as hell as I have 30 extra cards for some of them, and I’m still getting themm!!! But usually I just use coins for epics and grind for golds, but coin scrap would be nice, just like 50 (common) 100 (epic) 500(gold) or something simple and small that makes the grind at higher levels seem more worth it

It’s back! And this time, we have the honor of doing it on Reclaimed… or maybe not because all we’re getting is 450 coins and 1,000 class XP for the trouble.

@TC_MichaelAOS I hear you say you wanted to make every modifier set balanced, but what’s the particular thought behind this one having not only 3x damage but also TWO health modifiers coupled with Survivor to waste our time? I can hardly see how this is “balanced” or fun, especially when bobble heads doesn’t move the hitbox of enemies to account for the modifier and there’s literally no damage increases for anybody.

My question is actually why are we getting the same modifiers. When I heard they were random, I thought that was great! But clearly there are presets being chosen from, and the only random piece is the map and the preset chosen.

When these challenges first dropped, the XP rewards were great and the challenges were refreshing.

But since they nerfed/fixed the XP and we keep getting the same mods, this has gotten old very quickly and not worth the trouble, so much so that I’m back to just doing my TOD dailies and then idling for stars.

Jesus today’s is a nightmare. Went in with two gunners, mech and an infiltrator that quit after wave 4. I was pilot. 6 shots of a dropshot didn’t even kill a pouncer. A full dropshot to kill anything. Died on wave 12 to a swarmak and warden because we couldn’t put a dent in the warden let alone the swarmak.

Just made it to wave 12 twice and got MURDERED both times. Who TF came up with this?

I find this modifier set stands in strong opposition to, well, the post Ektope linked above.

I didn’t try the daily from yesterday but I hate freezing bullets and Hammerburst Drone BS so I don’t imagine it was very pleasant to play either.

Promoting class-synergy and teamwork? If you have a full squad of people who know what they’re doing this sounds piss-easy.

And you could always turn off the 3x damage and still get full rewards.
