Anyone else excited for the larger user base Gears 5 will have

It’s a double edged sword

Can be good for population

Can be bad, as any 10yr old or lower end internet user will have access to it,

I see more bad connection players incoming.

I also see more people getting to experience the Gears universe.

It’s a win lose situation

Unfortunately no, i think its usually the same player base that keeps it alive, not many new people pick up this game,

Yea real talk honestly if this game crashes like gears 4 im done, i wasted a lot of time researching and testing drivers and causing a headache for myself cause TC made it a job to play this game on PC.

Right on point. They can’t afford another driver issues like Gears 4 still has. Which is why I’m waiting a few weeks to get the game. I’ll be damned if I buy the game day one, it still has a crashing issue of this caliber, and I cant get a refund for it because of the strict refund policies

Just get it through game pass for like a month, that way you can test it and it’ll cost you a minimum ammount

New driver is out!

You are mentally challenged if not completely limited.

Without a doubt I’m excited to have a larger player base. I’m tired of sitting in matchmaking for 10+ minutes to get into one match With game pass including gears 5, there will be many more people playing the game. As well as the PC playerbase not having to worry about having the wrong Nvidia equipment this time around.

Did you mean improvised or improved? lol

ā€œSteam users won’t accept garbage.ā€ Look I’ll be the first one to say that I’m a console gamer who can admit that PC is a better platform for gaming if you have a good setup. I occasionally game on PC because my laptop is a toaster that struggles to run any game newer than 2004. But Steam is the motherload of garbage when it comes to what is allowed on it’s storefront. Asset flips and shovelware abound on Steams’ storefront. There’s virtually no quality control.

TC Octus said either the majority or a good chunk of Gears players where brand new to the franchise.

And how often are those games actually bought and played for enjoyment, rather than the few who might still be making money off trading cards and achievements? What I’m meaning is that by releasing Gears 5 in a poor state, it would leave a very bad first impression and could potentially screw up Microsoft’s potential with future games like Halo that will also be released on Steam.

Microsoft/TC knows they need to get the release as perfect as possible. Luckily, it seems like they’re doing just that.

I understand what you meant. I was just pointing out that Steam isn’t the holy land like most people make it out to be. It’s a great service but with very little quality control. Plus from people who have played the tech test on PC, it’s working perfectly fine. So this time around I’m fairly certain the PC playerbase won’t run into any major issues.

So far STEAM is the best one though a lot of people use, it is not perfect but it is the top dog for what it is and does.

All I’m saying is that Steam needs better quality control. I never said it was bad. They just allow a lot of low effort garbage onto their service.

Totally not saying it is some holy land, just that people do have memories that last longer than 5 seconds and obviously Microsoft wants their future games to succeed otherwise they wouldn’t have allowed Steam releases in the first place. The Nvidia driver that went out yesterday seems to have fixed the Gears 4 crashes, so hopefully the few who crashed in Gears 5 won’t have that happen again.

My memory lasts longer than 5 seconds lol. I know that people had issues playing gears 4 on PC. I’m just saying that there’s no point in whining and moaning about an issue that isn’t present in this upcoming installment.

Same thing?

What is an improvised anti-cheat?

They were Dev’s words. Not mine. I paraphrased them.
