If you like Gears 5 then you really do have low standards.
But don’t worry, this has already been discussed in other topics (remember the example of Batman and Robin).
If you’re disappointed by 5 then it’s safe you’re not a hardcore gears fan. Probably was never one to begin with.

don’t really care what any whiners think. GoW5 is legit. Always some person whose gonna gripe. I’ve seen it all. But of course insult people that actually like the game for the lack of skill you provide to the game, perhaps?
I mean you’re talking to an og gears player. I’ve seen sh*t. I’ve played through the worst of times. This current state is so improved. Pvp wise. I remember all the glitches & lag gears has to offer. The host was atrocious because sometimes that host could mess with his modem & lag people out. I know because it happened to me a lot.
People would rage & disconnect their modem, then plug it back in & get an easy win. Lol… the good old days… or glitch out the map when a teams losing bad & ruin all the fun.
This current gears is just quick & more player friendly.
My opinion. Since I’m just a pvp player that can’t relate to anything other than pvp.
The pvp is as competitive as it’s ever been. Everyone be wanting to hit masters & get those skins. But it’s hard because you have to be perfect to do it. I’ve done it but it was hard. One loss will set you back so much. & people at high level don’t play to lose.

I haven’t played Gears 5 since last year, haven’t been impressed in the slightest since the Tech Test. It’s been a betrayal since the start, barely resembling game Gears of War game whilst trying to be something it’s not. It looks more like a cheap spin off if anything.
Yes, they’re making an effort and numerous changes. But they had Gears 4, in it’s final state, as a decent template to take and improve on. They chose to ignore it entirely and all they’d learned.
Operation 3 is nearing, which seems optimistic… We’ll see. Yes, it may very well be a good game in a century or two, but until then it’s currently little more than a glorified Beta.
This is just my opinion, people are free to have their own…

I agree/ understand.
My top corrections would be:
- scrap for useless cards
- make matchmaking character choices - either open OR first come first serve (so that folks can’t jump in and knock you off of a character as it starts) OR allow players to define their 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th choices if they’re not going to be allowed to play what they want
My top improvements would be:
- Bring back horde light - 3 hour horde matches are an obstacle to people with low time - I’ve seen this done in special events like Jingle Juvies so I know that it’s possible.
I’ve learned to live with the other stuff - although, some of the skill progressions do seem to deliver hardly noticeable improvements so making it feel good with and upgraded card would also be a great improvement . Added cards would also be nice especially for the poor Halo characters.
Tbh I’m not quite satisfied with the game. But I wasnt happy with gow4 either. So just gotta deal with it I guess.

Well…dissapointed? Yes, I am. Anyway I give TC respect for trying hard to fix issues the Community is blaming.
But for me it is more the overall what Gears looks like now. I am Gears addicted. Saw Gears 1 back in 2007 and bought a 360 and Gears the next day, after beeing away from games since Dreamcast.
Gears of War was so Special! I was so excited about every new one that came out…until Judgement, which does not really exist in my Gears head.
IT was the Soul of Gears of war that made it so unique.
And even 4 was a good Video game, it just was not GoW anymore.
So for me it is the whole direction they put Gears into Not what the original fans want. They want to try to make IT a fancy looking Gearsnite for the Kids.
But the fans that sticked to Gears are grown up people. Don’t get me wrong, If they think Gears needs emotions or bloodsprays, okay. Even I don’t need it. But just the Look, the Feeling, the music, the too colourfull design pushes the Game farer away from what Made Gears Gears of war.
I mean, I know there are fans of Gears working for TC…so how can this happen? They should know what Gears of War has to look like.
Even the sign they give us with Rod leaving the franchise behind at this time, is not a good one. I really hope they choose a real Gears of War Fan as new head of the studio.
I know there is a lot of discussion of the future of Gears going on now. I really hope, they go back to GoW 1,2,3 Play it over and over again amd than make plans for 6.
This should give us a Gears game we are waiting for since 3.
Again, I am not saying TC is a Bad Studio. I mean, at least they want to keep Gears of war alive. And of course I see they are trying hard. But after the Feedbacks from 4 and 5 they should realize Gears needs that “Brothers to the end” spirit again.
Anyway I keep playing 5…need seriously, like to see the envolve they are bringing, but I still play my old Gears games, too

Honestly, yeah. I like Gears 5 but It’s biggest detriment is that it spread itself too thin and lots of players suffered in different ways for it. In some cases the problems bleed between the PvE and PvP crowds (e.g. the Hero System.
You are wright! I just felt I need to say something positive so TC still sees a light at the horizon… I don’t wanna see Gears Franchise to die.

You don’t have to lie, there’s already people here who somehow genuinely enjoy the game. You don’t have to suffer by writing undeserved positivity towards TC.

I agree. I have always stated that Gears 5 has good points, but I have to be honest and state what what I don’t like. Sadly there has been more bad than good, many make the game not fun and an artificial grind imo.

It’s the best one in the series, so yes if you hate it you aren’t a true fan. Maybe Judgement is more your speed
5 is not the best it doesnt even compete with the previous games ultimate edition plays the best then prob 3 then 4
1 is the best gears on the system. Nobody will ever be able to take you serious now.
