Execution hasn’t worked or been popular since gears 3 outside of custom matches.

Execution was in major decline but it’s sad to see the last pillar of the franchise go.
But is this even Gears anymore?
It’s not ‘Gears of War’, it’s Gears 5. It doesn’t have Warzone or Exe anymore. Everyone runs around painted up in some nasty looking, brightly coloured clown makeup. Gone are the classic maps, replaced with wide open swamps that look straight out of Dragon Age Inquisition rather than Gears. Robots and terminators. Locust replaced with shrimp-men who look worse off than the Savage Locust.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to you bro. Gears underwent changes just like everything else. These changes just suck lol

Until execution, comes down, I am on break as well, at least fix the movement speed, so I can p lay Escalation, I uninstalled Gears, back to R6 now, sucks they really did this at the worst time, being under lockdown and what not. Working all week, and just want to relax and play gears and exe my days off and they just took it out,I literally would find games in less than 2min when it was out…

Well, most people who loved exe/warzone gave up on this game long ago so the thread doesnt reflect the amount of players who would play these modes, but personally i never enjoyed a single match of boring casual koth

A single thread isn’t representative of anything. A multide of threads and tweets on the other hand say a lot. Execution isn’t a popular mode, period. I wish the game had 500k players every day. Then we’d have all playlists in the game at the same time.
The whole reason Epic sold off gears is because they couldnt afford it anymore. Gears 3 was expensive for them. With each installment, the customers expectations go up. If epic made gears 4 it would have been make or break. If it wasn’t a success they would have gone under. So they couldnt make another gears after 3. At least that’s what I read.

You really are that dumb, that you blame Epic for selling Gears to Microsoft. Instead, you could blame Microsoft, or even The Coalition. After all, they all knew what Gears was, how it plays and anything else.
You do not think that even the player base can be at fault too, for not complaining enough, or even sticking to their ideals.
I have seen people on here complain about this and that, then go back upon their words and start praising, and nothing changed, except them.
I for one have complained at one certain issue and never backed down from it. Horde. It is all i care about, Campaign is the least used part of Gears, Escape never should have existed, and PvP has always been a problem. The only thing that could have improved, which did not was Horde, The Coalition time and time again keep getting it wrong.
Blame, it surely can be aimed right at the developers, a game that was not finished for a start, Gears 5, an improvement on Gears of War 4, yet also downgraded in some respects.
No one can blame you for leaving, i certainly have complained enough to walk away and be done with this game, but i have not, i just have breaks and return some time later. I did it in Gears of War 4, but i have to admit, Horde pissed me off so much i would have a month break, come back, not even complete a game and i was off again. Truth is, i had hoped The Coalition would have improved Gears 5 enough over Gears of War 4 for me not to keep doing such a thing.
New game, new problems, but they did improve Horde, just not enough for my liking. I am an Engineer, i like to build, and in my personal opinion, only Engineers should and need to build, until that happens, i will have a problem with Horde. The Coalition needs to fix this issue, or get shut of it completely. Go back to the Gears of War 3 Horde, with no building at all, or make the Class system proper, only the Engineer builds, so on and so forth. Each Class has its own specialisation, or none at all.

Erm, it’s 14 years.
Plus I prefer custom execution to ranked execution.
These maps weren’t made for execution. These maps are not fun for execution.

Epic games isn’t the same epic games from 2006 and they aren’t the best at listening to the fortnite community and that’s why the hype died and so many streamers stopped playing it. And people seem to forget that TC was lead by Rod and all the epic games employees that wanted to continue working on gears despite it ending. People also under value Rod when compared to Cliff which is just unfair when he was basically the right hand guy.
Execution was one of the least played game modes. It doesn’t make any sense to add a game mode only a few hundred people bother with.

In Gears of War 3 everybody could build anything anytime they wanted. It was Gears of War 2 horde that did not have building and it was the best one in my opinion. I still play it sometimes just to see how far I can get by myself. I do like Gears 5 horde when I can play with my friends and we have a full squad because we all know our roles so we don’t have those randoms that f people over online.
I recommend Escape if you are a horde player that does not like the way horde is going in Gears 5. This mode is amazing in my opinion. I like that we have an actual objective instead of just defend this map from the hordes of enemies. Playing on insane or higher difficulties with the venom up your butt and next to no ammo things get intense in a hurry. Plus with less slots to fill your squad you have less of a chance of getting some random that just does whatever he wants.
Have you tried playing in the vs ai playlist? Randoms are more tolerable there. It can be fun sometimes on the harder difficulties.

You do not need to build in Gears of War 3 Horde, it is not a necessity , you build because you want to, not because you need to. I played Gears of War 3 Horde and i can go a full game without building anything. I would rather give my currency to the best player to help repair the Silverback.
