A pro who wants to help things improve. Hear me out?(PVP thread)

You say “whiny h0e”…I say realist…part time foil to the TC shills…speaker of the truth.

After all, the game is a piece of garbage, and I really can’t think of many pursuits that are more pathetic than being a ‘pro’ at Gears 5.

I will try and step it up though. I post so little that saying “crying in every thread” is pretty laughable kid. But I will try and post more. After all, one can never post up enough criticism and negativity about this trash.

Great!

There will be players like me there, every step of the way, supporting and promoting the quality of the title until the likes of players like you come back and say “Wow, this is the best gears title now that all the bugs and hit detection/movement issues are ironed out”

Reminds me of gears 4.

If the game ever does get sorted, and can offer a fun, balanced, engaging and exciting experience, with a Horde freedom akin to 4, and balanced matchmaking for many regions (and a working ranking system for those that like to go harder in PvP), yeah, I’m down!

My faith in TC to achieve this is very low. But it’s still the dream.

I’ll have to think about this in a couple of years. But if we assume that Gears 5 will stay poor, then yeah, it too reminds me of Gears 4 which I thought was poor throughout.

At least TC won’t rip me off in 5 by selling me reworked launch maps as part of the Season Pass. And that’s a positive for Gears 5. Where’s that other thread…

What I mean by reminds me of gears 4, is the perception of the playerbase, not an individual opinion.

At the start, everyone was up in arms about the games glitches, and there was a hype train of negativity.

By the end of its lifespan it is being hailed as a great experience that was tuned well by the playerbase input over time.

This is a common opinion used here to disparage 5.

Just funny to me that people haven’t adjusted to the rigamarole of the new gaming industry practices.

They release unfinished games, beta test it on the playerbase for 6-12 months, and then it polishes out to what it should have been closer to at launch.

People just forget that the same thing happened in 4 way too often, and I’d argue 3 as well even, although there was much, much less of the same issues- it was also a different time in gaming.

Ah, understood, playerbase perception, and I agree to a large extent.

There’s an argument it applies to 2 as well.

(Certainly Gears 1 was and is my series highlight and the game I think was in the best state at launch of any Gears title. I’d probably have J behind that, as unless I am forgetting some bad issues (may well be, iirc some achievements required non-server connections or something), it did actually work well at launch, despite the gameplay changes that were or were not liked.)

“They release unfinished games, beta test it on the playerbase for 6-12 months, and then it polishes out to what it should have been closer to at launch.”

I’d see this as more applicable to last gen. This one, yeah, lots of unfinished games where paying customers are beta testers, but nowhere near enough polish over time. Gears 4 for example lol.

It’s sluggish because of the rodie speed boost, and people griping because of bouncing in gow 4. Pros and semi pros and amateurs are well aware of how to kill a bouncer meanwhile new players complain because they cant kill them. And that slip speed is only meant for high tailing it out of a fight or get to a place faster tc just tried to make that ideal of gow 1 gow 2 gow 3’s up a better.

Not that you don’t make some decent points because you do although in a harsh way, but be fair and accept as a pro he has as much of a right to voice an opinion as me and you.

Just because he is in the minority(pro player) and we are in the majority,it’s still good to get his perspective on things.

Yes, he does. I have since reproached myself of the behavior I displayed here. I intend not to have an outburst such as this again. These guys are as much a part of the community as us, and have as much of a right to voice their opinion as anyone else. Despite the fact that some individuals in that community don’t think the same about the rest of us.

Yeah I get that. I can picture what some of those guys think of ordinary pvp players.

I would defend this guy here though because he’s shown the majority fan base a fair amount of respect by posting his ideas in this forum and without a doubt he sounds like he values the feedback of the ordinary pvp playerbase otherwise he wouldn’t be trying to get this conversation started.

Agreed. However I want to clarify- I’m not even a pvp player. I’m a horde main lol, their opinion of players like me is rather… well…

It’s sad, because I probably understand the inner workings of the game on a more sophisticated level than some of them who are paid to play.

That aside though, you are right. Kenny, and others, came here in good faith, and I responded in bad faith. They deserve at least the same level of respect that they put out here.

I remember playing against you and your brother in gears 2 so I feel your pain for 1 I think the shotty needs fixed from a hit marker standpoint I do agree that something needs done or alot needs done but I do think it’s a lost cause but the movement recently I’ve seen a problem especially when I empty a clip of lancer into someone bouncing and I get gibbed after a clip and 1 solid shot from the shotty and I do 98% damage

Hi hi! It me  Slightly scared, but here lolllll

I wouldn’t feel bad because in doubt they would for me.

They are still gonna put up hard numbers on me regardless…

Agreed, the boltok needs to be slowed down the damage doesnt matter that much, Overkill too, I would suggest to make it reload after every trigger since it has that pull relase. If headshots, oneshot downs were a thing and oneshots were a little further out in the shotty they would quit playing around to hit that shot. Thier’s nothing you can do in that situation and people take advantage

Please! Can anyone explain what everyone is talking about?

I play gears 5 MP for less than 2 weeks.
I have not played gears MP for a long time.
Probably the last ones I’ve been playing for a long time are gears3.
And it was 2-5 matches in gear4.

I do not know what was the running speed at the start of gear5.
But now I feel the game is slower than gears3.
There, one of the most important skills was the skill of movement and wallbouncing.
Wallbouncing was really very fast.
This was what one skill player could outplay five.

Here I do not see such mechanics. And I feel that the delay roll - aiming - shot became larger.

As for me, the overall speed of the game has decreased. This has become more comfortable for unskillful players like me, but much less fun.

What speed increase are you talking about? What am I doing wrong?

You have to hold the X button and your button to roady to get a speed boost

General movement speed, Wallbounces are easier to perform in gears5, but they arent useful anymore because their reaction is slower. Combine that with the inconsistent gnasher hit marker and you get killed before you can get closer to the next wall. .

Hi @Lucy_Mae

don’t be scared… it’s great that you are here

do you like Gears 5 ?

Ha thanx! I play on pc and have been super busy lately that I haven’t checked out this patch…which is why I don’t have an opinion, yet. Just reading up on what’s going on. But when I played, I had a fantastic time! 99% in on shot was tilting, but… hahahaha

Thanks.
Well, of course, I tried to make wallbounce immediately and I understand that it can be done, but it is no longer useful.

I’m talking about the fact that this decision made the game easier but less fun. ,The game became too shallow and does not bring fun . Even for me without skill and with ping 90~130.

So I just can’t understand what other speed reduction PRO says about if everything is already too slow.
