How exactly do they determine the total skill of a team, and thus who is favored? I’ve just been making casual observations today and it seems like it’s probably a sum of the skill of each player? If so this is a weird and IMO ineffective structure. Feels like the game tries to get teams of similar total skill but what’s actually happening is that each individual guys skill isn’t factored with the team they’re on so you’re getting players who don’t belong together in the same game.
For example…if everyone’s skill is 5, for a total of 25, that’s fine. That team makes sense. Even if it’s like 7, 5, 5, 5, 3 that’s not awful. But a team that has a total skill of 25 can ALSO be made up of like 12, 7, 2, 2, 2, which is nowhere near the same thing. I know those aren’t real numbers, that’s just an easy math example. Anyway, I don’t know how else to account for the fact that there’s always that one guy who goes completely nuts and puts up 14k while the rest of his team puts up between 8000 and 6000, meanwhile on each team there’s another poor soul who puts up like 3500 because they in one way belong in that game. I just don’t get it.
