Yeah that one I can’t explain, I haven’t been lancered much when carrying the Breaker Mace. Worth testing in a private match to see if it negates stopping power.
No, nobody likes dying to power weapons in an unfair fight when they have only loadout weapons. My point is that I don’t know why the mace in particular makes you leave the game. Yes, it’s an unfair way to die, but every power weapon in every GOW has been unfair. It’s part of the formula.
…and as an aside, the Mulcher on Icebound is way, way more broken than anything else on the map given the long lines of sight everywhere.

Increased ROF and stopping power w/actives but no damage boost.
What I meant is that 9 shot downs are possible with headshot damage multipliers and actives would increase that likelihood with higher ROF / stopping power.
When I said high tail it I meant roadie run in the opposite direction, not quit. I always stick with a game, no matter how bad it gets.
You do make a good point, I said something similar to my wife last night… The only thing that really stands out is the human foot.
the homing lunges were kinda the final straw…
I like explosive power weapons, I live and die by them… I have no problem being killed by a well timed drop, boom, GL, frag, good incends throw, etc… Most of those require SOME skill…
What happened here? Someone run straight at me, through active bullets, and let the game auto home on me, lunge across 4m and kill me…
I’m NOT pissed off about getting killed… It’s the game mechanic, this homing lunge that just really disgusted me…
Yes, the mace is a pickup weapon… But it’s the same thing with the knife… Everyone is running around knifing people now…

That last comment pretty much summons up the community feeling, THE PRO’s, the cannosieur’s of the game and the experts will go there, heck even the casuals who plays fortnite kids games will go to 4 .
A lot of people don’t like the Mace, because 1 it’s new and 2 most power weapons will lose to the gnasher or be forced to suicide if a player gets too close but that ain’t the case. Also the lunge does look goofy as heck.

This is actually working as intended you get DMG reduction while wielding the mace at the cost ammo/durability.
The lunge is broken though, melee in general is way to friendly with its lunge

The game is broken
Same here bro, Uninstalled Gears 5, been back on Gears 4 for about a week. There’s lots of reasons, but between the micro transactions, lack of characters, maps and the insane forced game mode grinding they’ve instituted on players… I’m done.
But two things really put me over the top in the last 2 weeks.
I de-ranked from Top 10% Silver to 80% Bronze over a Five Match Span that my team won every game and I had a KDR over 1.50.
Experienced 3 matches in the two weeks leading up to me Un-installing the game in which I was booted mid-match and suspended for 15mins each time. Matches would freeze up, characters start running into walls etc and then I’d get booted/suspended. I have the best internet available, hard wired, top 3 ping every match, my internet never dropped, but yet I’m getting penalized for their crappy servers. Apparently this has been happening to a lot of players.
On top of that, messaged support about 13-14 days ago about it after the first time it happened and I have still not received a response after messaging them 3 times now.
Gears 4 is a better game.
I have been playing gears 4 again. Koth and 2 vs 2 . Love it. And better for my blood pressure xD

This is the same reason you can point blank body a mace wielder with the Gnasher and they live with you having only done 70% in 1 hit.
That said, OP just played the situation wrong/poorly. Next time you see somebody with a mace out, stay very far away and Lancer them. Eventually they’ll either be forced to put it away or it’ll break. Definitely don’t stand there and play chicken with them lol.
The warden mace needs rework or should be removed cause the area of effect of the dmg goes through really big covers as well. So, if you see someone charge just run away or shotgun them but with pings that high you’ll probably die first.
Can’t say I blame you, Omen. Gears 4 is little really enticing rn. I just keep hoping that if I play 5 enough, i’ll start to like it But damn, its a grind
