I’ve been dashboarded more in Gears 5 than I have probably in my lifetime of gaming, its insane. I suspect the reason is mainly just that its a horribly optimized game (probably build for better hardware ala PC’s) and no amount of bug fixes will change that.

lots of minor bugs don’t really mean too much and can usually be circumvented, but a poorly designed game is on a whole other level.

Edit: no operation will ever fix this, the only hope is that the game is much more stable on next gen systems.

Sat here on a sunday afternoon in the uk trying to finish my last 5 maps on Frenzy masters. Abyss, Reactor, bunker, dam and railine. Not been able to get a game all day. Are they not popular maps, who knows it’s just Over load and Blood drive speed runs.

That leads me to my biggest want that won’t happen this OP. Raise the XP, bonus cards or anything above normal on the least played maps. Try to give people a to play the other maps. Can’t be that hard each month to see the stats and boost xp/cards.

I don’t think that will move the grinders off their habitual choice of easy to complete maps. Especially while the Overload Marcus speedrun still works, which it might not if they still go through with the Rifle Feedback nerf and/or whatever they choose to do with his aimbot ult.

I know most ppl don’t like Pahanu but Reactor is even worse. It’s just an awful map no matter what mode.

I guess it’s up to them to make it worth while. I think there are some great horde maps that don’t get played because of the easy route. As you say Marcus will get a nerf but it’s still super easy to control with fahz and clayton and lizzie/keegan/JD.

I really like reactor, I think it’s an excellent versus map and decent on horde, not easy on Frenzy masters though. Didn’t give me any issues on 50 though. But most maps suffer from limited set up points, hopefully op5 will have more options in maps. I mean you only have to look how wrong they got overload, they said they assumed people would set up in the middle and fight surrounded.

People hate Reactor cuz its ugly and “weird”, whereas people hate Pahanu because its foundationally broken, apples to oranges really.

Love to have TAI and Bernie (Yes I know I have countless said this in older threads☺️)Other then this, I don’t mind what maps become old/new .I’m just helping new/experienced Gearsheads ,whether easier re-ups or longer get better I’m not sure this would happen no disrespect to TC/ Members

I think Pahanu is a bit too big for pvp. Or at least it gives that impression. Artistically it is a good looking map, does remind me of Dadobah however.
As for Reactor, I like it in pvp and Horde.

Speaking of maps played on Dawn and Relic yesterday, 4 of course. Both great maps.

Visually Dawn is my favorite gow4 map. For playability it is fuel depot, but visually, yeah, i love Dawn…

Fuel Depot is boring though. Enemies take ages to get to you, and matches feel very drawn out. Though I’ll give it this, it’s nowhere near as bad as the atrocity that is Fallout in Horde.

I think the nerfs will really really upset people. Marcus will be battered for the reasons you mention, which will then make him next to useless as a single.

No good will come from duplicate classes.

Look at Clayton recently, with his now inactive card. I’m sure there will be more of the same to come. 4 Clayton s just firing the ult one after another reducing damage.

Still really looking forward to it but I’ve stopped playing versus in case OP5 destroys pve for me, then I can play that. I’m confident OP5 will be one the whole great but not that it will be the game I will play.

Seems very unlikely, even if Nov 10th introduces tons of bugs (probably won’t but no one knows) they can fix most things come December, the only reason I would see OP5 being delayed is for QA reasons (as in crashes and/or exploits found in OP5 build) but considering that QA just lets everything through anyway I highly doubt that would even happen.

1 week from OP5, its already done and is in cert process right? Other operations were delayed but those operations were expected to not last 4 months in the first place…

I still say both when she does eventually come… Normal Reyna on the COG side with different skins they can add along the way… then Queen Reyna could just be a Myrrah skin, similar to Batista for Marcus. I also still think the Queen Reyna would be a worthy General Reward if/when they do do it, but that’s my 2 cents.

As for my actual predictions idk, Im hoping for Anya and Skorge in the character department, everyone else is just bonus… won’t be satisfied with any less than 5 Maps after all their promises that this is the Op we’ll see the huge spike in that department… but we’ll find out… 1 hr before the Op launches.

Technically based on the original three month timing that the operations were supposed to last this one was already delayed. They built the delay into their timing for Operation 5. This will clock in at right around four months which has been roughly their release schedule with other more recently delayed operations.

As for my prediction I’m unfortunately going to lean towards generally underwhelming. That’s based off of how guarded they’ve been regarding content for Operation 5 as well as that they’ve probably been prioritizing the campaign modifications for the Xbox Series X release. Personally, I don’t understand that if something was scheduled to release in a week why you would wait basically until release before throwing some teasers out. Usually when the cards are this close to their vest it’s because they’ve got nothing to play.

Please note that I hope that I am entirely wrong. I would love nothing more than to have a wealth of new content that could keep me on the game longer than a couple hours a week (if that).
