Welcome to the Official Gears of War forums! This is a place to talk to your fellow Gears fans about all things Gears, make new friends, and have your feedback seen by the development team at The Coalition. Please note this forum only supports English language conversations.

Need Gears 4 Support? Post in our Help category here.

We recommend reading our full guidelines below to ensure you fit right in on the forums. While these are not hard and fast rules, they do outline the basis of any moderation actions we’ll take to uphold the ethos of our forums.

Be Constructive

We want to foster deep discussions, whether it’s between fans or providing feedback to the development team.

  • Add insight into your opinions. Think something is wrong about the game? Provide reasoning and understanding to build a conversation.

  • Consider how your post adds to the conversation before posting. Is it enriching the discussion? If not, step back for a moment and consider the content of your post.

  • Joining existing discussions is a much better approach than starting a new one. Check out suggested threads based on your thread title to find similar topics.

  • Rants prevent both the developers from understanding your feelings and fellow fans from having a rich discussion about a topic. Posts of this nature will be swiftly deleted.

  • While we welcome speculation, non-official information (ie. rumors) will be deleted regardless of it’s validity. We want to protect our fans from false or leaked information.

We Have Zero Tolerance For Aggression

Aggressive posts towards the game, development team or other members will not be tolerated.

  • Be respectful of the topic at hand and fellow fans, even if you disagree with their opinion.

  • Attacking or insulting The Coalition gets in the way of our work to gather valuable feedback and will never get a response from the development team. Share your feedback or criticism in a manner you’d expect to receive if you were in the same position.

  • While we are an M rated franchise, we do not allow swearing on the forums. This includes intentional misspelling of words, substituting punctuations or any other methods that reflect an otherwise banned word.

  • Name-calling, threats, insults or targeting a fellow member is harassment and will result in swift action.

  • Respond to the content of someone’s post, not the tone. If someone is aggressive to you, flag their post and ignore it. Don’t rise to it.

  • Provide counter-arguments to opinions if you disagree. Don’t attack someone because they have a different viewpoint.

Discrimination Free Zone

We want this forum to be a safe place for Gears fans to interact and share their opinions. Any discrimination of any kind will result in your swift removal from the forums.

  • Racism, sexism and derogatory terms will not be tolerated.

  • Do not share any links, imagery or videos that could be offensive including, but not limited to, pornographic material, racist or sexist memes or explicit imagery.

  • Off Topic does not mean free reign on any topic. Consider your content.

Stay On Topic

Keep to the subject at hand within your particular topic of choice. Creating a new topic? Make sure to check ‘Suggested Topics’ after typing the title of your thread to join existing conversations.

  • Don’t start a topic in the wrong category.

  • Don’t cross-post the same thing in multiple topics.

  • Don’t post no-content replies.

  • Don’t divert a topic by changing it midstream.

  • Don’t sign your posts — every post has your profile information attached to it.

Your Participation Counts

Set a good example to your fellow Gears fans by engaging in conversations that follow the rules and ignoring those that don’t.

  • Be civil. Don’t post anything that a reasonable person would consider offensive, abusive, or hate speech.

  • Keep it clean. Don’t post anything obscene or sexually explicit.

  • Respect each other. Don’t harass or grief anyone, impersonate people, or expose their private information.

  • Respect our forum. Don’t post spam or otherwise vandalize the forum.

  • Report posts that bring the community or conversation down. Help us - together - build the best community possible.

These are not concrete terms with precise definitions — avoid even the appearance of any of these things. If you’re ever unsure, ask a Moderator.

In order to maintain our community, moderators reserve the right to remove any content and any user account for any reason at any time. Moderators do not preview new posts; the moderators and The Coalition take no responsibility for any content posted by the community.
